"We Have New Players"

True, our football team is 10-0; if that's not the clearest example of how a good coach and portal can immediately turn a program then I don't know what is.

While IU hasn't been able to lure any really good coaches since Sampson, our NIL program should change that...I hope. Dolson better have his list ready.
we have a good coach

Looks slow not very athletic gets his shot blocked by shorter guys has no range is a good rebounder but thats about it.

IU 3-0: We beat a quality opponent. I love the intensity, but we still need to carry it for 40 minutes. Ballo had a great game: 5 blocks and 12 boards. His scoring is x-tra. Just hit your free throws. In the second half, we did not see much of the double bigs, but as Galloway gets healthier, he will play more. I like the substitution pattern and again Carlyle is finding his way. We can have 4 double-digit scorers all season. pick your poison. GO Hoosiers.

He's one of those people who just bitch to bitch, that he says really dumb shit when he does it is pure comedy.
By bitching or criticizing, he thinks he comes across as being more knowledgeable. He views a positive comment as making him look like a rah-rah fan boy.

Kanaan is my favorite player.
Can you imagine Carlyle, Rice, Mgbako and Reneau firing on all cylinders from outside the 3 point line? Have Goode finally hitting shot and the way Galloway is playing dishing out assists, this team will be fun to watch. I think we saw a little of that potential yesterday.

Lot more passion brought with rice and Kanaan. We needed that. Mack and Malik are a bit passive.

put your 2 brain cells together and go back to when Woodson was hired (w Matta and Fife)...think about the state IU bball was in.

What your third brain cell would tell you, if you had one, is that we all know Woodson's NBA record and his limitations as a coach.
Put your 4th brain cell together that he can't coach college basketball if it wasn't for Cuban we wouldn't have a roster. Also settling for Woodson was not the right choice Dolson gave into Buckner.

lol at the Cuban comment. If it weren't for <insert name here> not one single team in NCAA would have a roster.

You really need to STFU

IU beat a former “Tobacco Road” blue blood once coached by Al Maguire’s brother Frank.

This year’s cupcakes are getting crushed. It seemed IU played with its food last year.

Ware’s NBA success shows how last years’ team underperformed.

Maybe fans should be happier with Mackenzie’s improvement, and worry less that Ballo doesn’t like like a lottery pick. Guard play looks much improved, say the box scores.

Ware's NBA success? Only played in 7 of 12 games, and averaging 7 mins, 2.5 pts and 1 reb, apparently playing behind Bam and Thomas Bryant? Is that the success you're talking about?

The old excuse in today’s world of college basketball teams built on portal players no longer can be used. UK has 12 new players, a new coaching staff. They are 3-0 and beat #6 Duke in OT last night as most of you know. Took them 3 games and a good coach to learn how to pay together, run an offense and buy into a team concept. I find that very interesting.
CMW appreciates the “shade” you are throwing him.

If only IU was 3-0 too.....oh wait....IU 'fans' on this site could find issues and bitch about the 1976 team.

I think Ware has moved ahead of Bryant in the backup center spot.

That’s pretty good work if you can get it. Haha

I was just comparing their mpg so far and Bryant had played in more games and had more minutes logged. Ware has all-world skills, but I don't know that he has the demeanor and work ethic to maximize them. Hope he does, he was just so laid back it seemed.

Durant is laid back .. and often high AF even during games, hasn't hurt him one bit. Being mellow in personality isn't a sign of being unmotivated.

I agree that Rice & Carlyle look like gamers.

Ballo certainly has his limitations. The Pringle kid (#5) from SC matched him on rebounds and points. Ballo had his hands full with him the last 10 minutes. The kid was a part-timer for Bama last year, although someone said he had a good tourney.

After the first two games I was really wondering how Ballo was named DP of the Year in the PAC 12 last year. He got beat several times by guys 3-4 inched shorter.

What I think I saw from him Saturday is that he is a better team defender than he is as an individual. He takes up a lot of space in the lane and showed pretty good anticipation toward their drives. Being a space eater is important because, as you say, neither Mgbako nor MR are very aggressive.

As to the results of this game.......SC was picked #11 preseason in the 16 team SEC, and lost to North Florida at home in game 1, but I do think they will finish in the top 1/2 of that conference. They competed hard and had some skills.

I hate the mass substitution, and it once again came back to bite us in the ass. Mbako was off to a great start, and he never did get back in the same groove. I sure wish that, at the least, when a shooter has the hot hand he be allowed to stay in a few minutes longer.

That said, I don't think a lot of teams have 6-8 guys as good as Galloway, Tucker, and Goode. Tucker looks more like a top 35 kid than a top 15. He looks like he'll be in college a few years. But he's got some skills and a good attitude, and could be a very good college player by year 3.

I like Tucker a lot. He is an athlete that has a nack for scoring. Also really like his defensive potential. He will be battling Kanaan for our best defender Id say by end of next year (really like the idea of those two and Rice sticking around).

Woody is gonna Woody with subs. Bank on it around 12-13 minute mark people are coming out, no matter how they are playing. Super annoying for sure. What he did do was not play Cupps and Hatton. Just playing 8, and our 8, is not gonna hurt us much. Gallo coming in for Malik or Ballo first I like the most.

I sat right behind SC. They aren't good and the coach acted like it was a 3rd grade scrimmage, Ive never seen such a nonchalant approach. Ill bet you the don't finish top 1/2 of the SEC :)
