Marqui Hawkins just committed to IU.

Welcome to Btown Marqui. Can't wait to see you Catch the ball next fall.

Why we don't offer the BD kid, a proven winner with

skills, is a mystery to me.

Re: Check the posts a bit before this

Wonder if we get Hawkins teammate? As to QB lets flip the one committed to BSU?

I dont get how a kid

from UAB is a BOOM? I mean we need help in that postion, we need some height & strength (that was obvious) and maybe he has those relative to our current roster....but, I mean it was UAB afterall. Help me out, as I dont honestly know much about him, but are we reaching and is this really a great get? or just another guy who has physical attributes our current receiving corp does not?

Re: I dont get how a kid

Originally had offers from most of the SEC and committed to Florida. He was an early commit then Florida got commits from 3 very elite WR recruits as the year went on. RS'ed his first year and then Florida tried convert him to DB that following spring, and he transferred.

Are we in a position to criticize where a good player comes from?

UAB would have been to a bowl game if not for the Administration......

Well, I was trying to find out

if he was a "good" get. The poster below gave me some information in that regard.

IMHO, just because a team makes a "bowl" game isnt much of an indicator other than they were able to piece together 6 wins. With many of the pre-conference schedules "power conference" teams play that sometimes is a bit dubious. Also, just my opinion, a six win "bowl" game and the entire bowl game system is watered down crap. If we want to be regarded as solid team, winning a minium of 7- 8 games consistently, and going no less than 500 in conference might be a better start, but what do I know I have only been enduring IU FB for 35 years....

No problem,

that board is basically a wasteland with rehashing & whining about CTC. It is almost as if most on the OTF and Bball board " WANT IU to fail & take some perverse pleasure in trashing the coach and his failure.

I just take the stand that if I dont like the product I dont watch until it improves but I never have, nor will I, start bashing coaches and players, it is still IU. I, for one, dont like losing anymore than the next guy....but I am just a fan, and MY expectations dont mean shyte in the grand scheme of things.

I want IU FB to succeed and I want Wilson to succeed in my heart, but I honestly dont see it happening (& yes I have been a season ticket holder) under him, I hope I am wrong.

That being said, just like with CCameron, I dont like the product, so I didnt renew my tickets (although I made the ISU & Maryland game), but once I saw the debacle that was Maryland, I took a pass on attending any more games, but did watch most of it on the tube. I doubt I will be in attendance in 2016, unless I see some tangible improvement. Four years into it and we still have bad game management, hand tackling, long yardage conversions at will, & on and on. I think I have earned that right over 35 years & my time is better spend elsewhere, cuz it just pisses me off....but I continue to hold out hope and dont relish in anothers demise....which seems to be the bball board right now..

Re: Well, I was trying to find out

Agree with you 100 per cent on the watered down bowl picture! For the last several years I have thought that 7 wins should be the minimum AND going .500 in your conference to be bowl eligible. Alot of these minor bowls would disappear and going bowling would actually mean something (and be profitable to the respective athletic departments).

A. We aren't in any position to look down on anyone.

B. He committed to Florida out of HS and had offers from Alabama, Auburn, etc. The RB we are trying to get from UAB as well ran for 1600 yards as a sophomore and has most of the south trying to re-recruit him. I understand asking for more info, but I don't really understand this "its UAB...is this a reach?" attitude that a couple of posters have thrown in this week.

Maybe Lance Dunbar-ish....

we remember him, correct?

Two Star by Rivals out of HS.

Ran for 1,400 as a Soph.

1,550 as a Jr.

KILLED us down here in Denton.

Now plays for the Cowboys.

Low rated out of HS, played for a small school, but had the stats.

Certainly worth a look for us, I would assume.
