I’ll be honest, I don’t get all the sh!t bsmitty gets from this board. I guess it’s from him being pretty adamant that Sisley was Purdue bound. Obviously he crashed and burned on that one, but hey, all the signs were there. And we all miss sometimes.
Other than that, dudes been pretty spot on. Woodson was a terrible hire. We’re are a very poorly coached team. And there’s other teams that are way better coached, that actually won with less talent than we have.
Dudes called all that out. And I do remember when some of us were cheerleading the Woodson hire, dude was like ‘why’ ?
I got bad info on Sisley, I was told he was a silent commit to painter. Who told me is typically very in the “know”.
Woody was a hire that made zero sense. Older basically washed out NBA coach. He would have never even got a sniff at any other high major program.
IU went cheap and easy and is paying the price.
His love affair with purdoo and pork chop is just so...unnatural.
Why any IU fan holds that school up as a beacon of hope and inspiration is beyond me.

I don’t have a love affair of anything PU. Like I said, I respect how they are coached and how Painter is doing it. He is also doing it with Mainly Indiana kids. As a fan of Indiana high school basketball, I enjoy seeing the Indiana kids have success. I hope they lose every game they play to be honest but that’s not the reality of how things have changed between IU and PU
Purdue can rot in a million hells with the fury of a million suns, but they are light years from us.
They have a real coach. He’s paid his dues. He’s a stand up guy. He recruits to his system. ‘Get old, stay old.’
In no way am I comparing Painter to RMK, but if RMK was doing it today, this would be his route.
Painter finished dead last with the Ronnie and Terone years. Then completely changed his strategy. He’s adapted. He wins and he’s done it with no shame.
His success is becoming Bo Ryan like.
His tournament success and failures are pretty steady to any active coach, coaching now. And he’s probably got another 10 or so years in him.

I don’t think IU went cheap on Woodson. They went desperate. We offered Stevens a brinks truck and when he said no, we just tried to save face.

For me I was willing to give Woodson a chance because he was a great player here and played for RMK in his prime. I didn’t imagine he was a clone of Knight but thought he at least teach good fundamentals and demand effort and focus. The reality was completely unexpected to me.

Fife and Matta being hired and IU "going cheap" was because Dolson was never on board with the hire.
Dolson didn't go cheap, he negotiated a contract based on Woodson's experience.
However with our non-impressive non conference work, 11-9 is still very iffy for NCAA Tournament- our NET will be like 53 if what you say occurs does- me just give me 4 more losses- 10/10 is not what Woodson promised he could achieve with an opened check book.,
As the season wears in, it's looking more like Southern Cal was the best win.
Its not just Sisley. He isn't an IU fan. Roots for ND in football. Said Romeo wasn't coming to IU. Said we should hire Archie Miller. Routinely goes on game threads and declares games over in the first half.

I have been on here since Mike Davis years dude. Yes I have not hid from being a ND football fan. Not one time…Romeo recruitment was a shit show…Adidas money thrown around, etc.
at the time Archie looked like a good hire based off how his teams at Dayton played. Yes I have been wrong on some recruitments…but so have some of the writers for these sites that people pay to get info from. I like 45 minutes from Lafayette and I’m surrounded by PU fans and not to mention they have a ton of Indiana high school kids (which I follow Indiana high school basketball). I have been 1000% right on Woodson and I was 1000% right on this team in the off season. If you don’t like me because of this…I really don’t give AF.

Johnson ball did not work well for Painter that's for sure . Yeah, he definitely learned from it and formulated a plan that's made his program remain Keady like.
