Kentucky forward Oscar Tshiebwe, the reigning John Wooden Award winner, announced he will return to college for the 2022-23 season.

Unless they’ve changed the NIL , then this doesn’t apply to him. For some reason they don’t allow NIL for foreign students. I hope they found a way around it for him because his relatives live in Africa I think and they want to bring them here for a better life

I was watching Sports Center at lunch when he announced his decision. They asked him if NIL helped him decide, he kind of smiled and said "due to some complex issues with NIL & Foreign players, I can't comment on that." It was obvious he's getting paid, but there definitely is a disconnect for the foreign players.

At UK, he's been getting paid since the day he announced he would be coming to Lexington. I'm sure the deal got sweetened however.

I normally don't have a lot of good things to say about UK players. Oscar is different.

My son in law's WKU frat brother is a UK fan and lives in Lexington. His friend has been in bad health and spent a considerable amount of time in the hospital. My son in law paid for a Cameo from Oscar to wish his friend to get well. Oscar's message was very touching and extremely well done! You can't fake what Oscar did. He is a fine young man and I hope he does well.

Amateur sports? I think I'm going to quit watching. I may as well just watch the NBA.
The NBA game has improved by leaps and bounds in the last 10-15 years, imo. You still have the stars, but the level of play is just so much higher now and more precise across the board. It's akin to the difference in watching NFL clock management vs college football. For all those who say they never watch the NBA, I'd give it a look, especially in the playoffs. But the ball movement and shooting is really pretty spectacular.

Because Calipari has always had trouble getting around the rules. Money that’s not from NIL is still money.

I believe Oscar’s dad was a Christian pastor.

It sounded like it. Invited his friend to meet him at a game. Don't think he was well enough to go to a game.

We paid for a Watford Cameo a couple of years ago at my daughter's wedding reception. Worth every penny. The Cameo was followed by "This is Indiana".

Certainly a huge positive change from say the time of the final seasons of Barkley at Phoenix and Houston. Clear it out, pass it in to Charles, back it in, back it in, back it in, back it in, and put up a three footer.

Same here. He should remain in the college because he had a talent. I know that his major was accounting, and I read several essays on accountant jobs that there are no more enormous salaries than in sports (source https://phdessay.com/free-essays-on/accountant/). He would be more satisfied as an athlete because he had all: gift, talent, work ethic. All he will need is a little bit lucky on top of all.
