Uh oh... We won!

It was not pretty. Both teams spent a lot of energy on the defensive end. But we stuck with it and beat a team that has been playing rather well and only had a couple close loses.

This should send the haters away at least until the next game. I can only hope.
It was good to see we got some luck our way. Rob's load management went well. He was in at key times.

The board is filled with all the same emotional little girls it's always been. I can only hope they are just drunk, and not really this mentally unstable during the day.

IU was a 1.5 pt favorite at tipoff.... so non-ragging people with their actual money on the line predicted just as close as a game as we had. It wasn't a very pretty game, but the defense was much improved after the first 5-6 mins.

This team (like most) needs their starting PG to play a lot of mins. We can only hope this is the end of the injury run for Phin.

I’m sure you heard Vitale ask Schuman if these were March teams. He sat silent. Hard to argue these two train wrecks make the dance.

And the energy and effort were much improved.

You think we have the offensive fire power to be in upper 3rd of big ten?

Totally agree on multiple points. We must have RP consistently to reach goals this year. I expected a close game, especially in MSG against UCONN. And I do believe many on here are just overly emotional teenage girls.

You aren’t supposed to be posting until February. You agreed to a year ban if we didn’t make the NCAA’s last year. Your time ain’t up.

See you in February.

Good luck with that

I think we have enough when factoring in D. I also believe our offense will be better as TJD develops and RP gets healthy.

Yes. More importantly they gutted out a tough physical win over a decent team. This is the kind of win we have not been getting for several years. Wins where all your stuff works are great but gritty tough wins like this have long been missing. Fingers crossed for more.

Heck no, B10 is loaded and we'll be entering death spiral soon. Can't wait for the defense of another 12 game losing streak on here, that should be interesting

Ok.

This place is just too hilarious to quit, I apologize, I can't help myself. I'm a bad person....I try to stay off of here, but it's too tempting.

But literally someone should do their psychology PhD dissertation on the mental fragility of adult aged men unable to watch college kids play basketball without their emotions turning into the equivalent of little children.

I have a 5 and 2 yr old at home.... their responses to things that don't go their way are very on par with the verbal diarrhea that were posted here during the first 5 mins of the game. I find it literally fascinating that there is actually so little discussion of what's going on during the game.... but plenty of shouting at clouds about how much the coach sucks. From a bunch of people that couldn't coach themselves out of a wet paper bag.

I love IU, loved my years in Bloomington while at school (and may move back someday, I love it so much) but the people who make up the internet fanbase make me very embarrassed a lot of the time.

But you are right.....I will do my damndest to not post again until Feb.

It must hurt being 9-1 with wins over fsu and uconn the last 3. And brunk was good the 2nd half.

What a bunch of total bitches and shitty fans. Folks, we just got dismantled by WI at their place... again. Didn't that feel like the start of the freefall from last year? But, how did this team respond? They went on the road (and yes, NYC is UCONN territory... hell, did you see that the MSG staff had a welcome UCONN ceremony? Missed the welcome Hoosiers one; must've got edited!) and gutted out a win against UCONN... not UCONN St. Remember, this team had no competitive early season opponents. It might not be pretty, but this is progress.

Remember, we were picked by all the "experts" to finish 8-10 in the B10 this year, and that was WITH a healthy RP. He plays last night, and we gutted out a win. Fans? Not in my book. The story on CAM is undecided, but that was a road W against a solid opponent. That's progress.

Here's a cheer for all those bitching about a WIN:

UCONN is not a particularly good team outside a couple of pretty nice individual players. I think a lot of Big Ten teams would have beaten them last night, what with the way they executed.

For their 2nd game away from home, vs UCONN in MSG and after a crushing defeat at WI? Yes, a lot of B10 teams would have gotten that win last night. And their names are: OSU, MSU, UM, MD...

Yeah. The exact same thing could have been said about UK after watching them against Evansville. Or Duke, after watching them against Stephen F. Austin. These games aren't played in a vacuum. IU looked like a TERRIBLE team if you watched one game this season. But you could pick out another game and say they looked really good. UCONN has beaten some pretty good teams this season. To say they are not a particularly good team because of the way they looked last night is cherry picking.

And IU's defense DID have something to do with why they looked so bad.

We played hard and got a good win away from home. A win's a win, take it, improve, and move on to Nebraska.
It’s only one game, but starting Green did not go well last night. In 29 minutes he went 2-10 (1-6 from 3) 1 Ast, 1 Stl, 1 Blk, 2 TO’s.

Agree... he MAY be best as a sparkplug coming off the bench. It'll be interesting to see how Archie handles the starting lineup when Rob is ready to play major minutes. Certainly, Rob should be starting as soon as he's in shape.

Don't you know? It's Devonte's team. And he has a higher upside than Rob. All according to a certain poster on this site.

Listening to Vitale will rot your brain.

That was actually a very astute and interesting question, as was Schulman's response, or lack thereof.

Personally, I don't like or understand all the Vitale hate. He's a personality with a schtick, but I believe he has a real love for bball, people, especially kids and has a genuine desire to help fight cancer. He's an old guy having fun doing something he loves, making great money and helping people. You don't have to like him or even listen to him, but he's doing good and isn't an a**hole and that counts for a lot in my book.

I agree, he does a lot of good. I just want Vitale and many others to announce the game I'm watching. Don't need commentary on other teams/players.
Vitale also gives a pass to POS coaches and programs.
