I’d also have to think that it would be terrible optics for recruits. The recruited kids have to get a shot to gain experience and possibly a starting role during their IU career. Bringing in a transfer to man the backup role would be demoralizing to the young guys.

You want terrible optics… take a look at IU FB pre-2024.

I think we need to get used to transfer QBs. It’s a unique skill set that is hard to recruit with high accuracy.

Do I like it? No.

But I like losing way less.

So you're evenly distributed in terms of class of the players.

We don't want to many sophomores and freshman while not having the same balance of upperclassmen.

That's when the portal comes into play, to help bridge those gaps.

What's the difference between his injury and Tyler's? Are you saying Tyler's injury is more serious. That I could understand.

I have no idea how severe the injury to Tyler is. I also don't know what all Rourke hurt. All we know is that Tyler's knee injury is bad enough that he needs surgery to get it fixed and he could not be back for the fall.

Not all knee injuries are the same.
