Tyler Cherry?

Coach Cig has frequently touted the ability for his staff to coach up QBs. Second or third year guys better be strongly in the mix to compete to start or in the future recruits will pass on us.

If Cig and staff have the ability they say they do, then surely A. Mendoza and Cherry will be capable at least for backup duty and if necessary starts, by next fall.

They were unable to coach up Tayven to where they believed in him, seemingly. One miss doesn't mean much though. Gotta have the raw talent to be coached up. He did improve a lot it looked like to me.
,

That would make Coaching Staff #3 that just felt they weren't able to coach Tayven up to the point that they could believe in him as the full time starter...

He clearly has talent but he's evidently not seeing or doing something that the Staff feels needs to be seen or done...

I thank him for his efforts against p u (to put us over 60), WA, & NE and wish him all the best (unless he transfers to pu)...

I think he'll land on his feet... He's at a position of need for nearly everyone...

It wouldn't surprise me to see him do well at his next stop if he chooses well...

I recall Cignetti making a strong statement about Cherry in fall camp I believe. He said without hesitation that Cherry was going to be a really good QB....

Cignetti never gave such a compliment to Tayven. Just something to chew on.

Cig has absolutely given Tayven compliments. He wouldn't have been the primary backup if he didn't have confidence in him.

Tyler’s little brother got hurt in baseball last Spring and was unable to play for CG’s football team this year. He’s all-state caliber in both sports. It likely cost CG another state title. Now Tyler is hurt. That’s a lot for one family to deal with.

What's the difference between his injury and Tyler's? Are you saying Tyler's injury is more serious. That I could understand.
I thought he was saying that Rourke played because he did not have surgery. I had an ACL many years ago. It was not really too painful and I could run on it until my knee would come apart. Then it would get pretty bad. But if you could have a brace that held it together maybe you could play football. On the other hand, once you have surgery you are definitely out for the year.
