I’m not sure I said that… 😀 we hope they learned something and will improve. But this has to be one of the most experienced teams we’ve put on the field.

Like Noah at husky … he made some plays … made some mistakes … and made some more plays as a fill in starter at DB last year. Husky should be a good fit for him.

Lots of upperclassmen… fits the high rotation plan … fresh bodies on the field at all times should be to IUs advantage.

Especially with attacking DL charges in a 1 gap scheme.

Good point. I assume experience helps both. Elite talent likely more valuable, but we do not often have that.

Its just a matter of trying to manage the number of snaps for the D linemen to keep them somewhat fresh. We ask them to occupy OL every play and it’s exhausting. But we don’t rotate behind them that way. Levels two and three (and up front, often) are governed by down and distance packages.

Yikes! That 2 deep doesn't give me a lot of confidence. With the exception of a healthy Mathews, we don't have any established and known quality skilled players. I don't believe IU has a system yet where we can plug in players and expect success.. We will need a break out season from a lot of players to win 5-6 games.

Every season we seem to have a good couple of receivers graduate and, somehow, every season, we seem to replace them with other guys each time who make a name for themselves. I expect the same this year.
Barner, Swinton, Camper, Matthews, McCulley and Simmons? Way too much talent there to have a lousy season catching footballs.

I recall IU squads where we had like 4-5 guys on scholarship at the position and the rest of the depth were walk-ons.
