Trump Zelensky today.....

It's unfortunate that a populist position regarding the NATO(US) catastrophic adventure in Ukraine engenders a response of such poor quality.
To think that understanding the dynamic involved in my experience, would codify my response to the disaster in Ukraine is foolish.
NATO(US) provoked this conflict, largely funded by a mix of Federal Agencies, including USAID, CIA, State Department, FDA, CDC. The graft, fraud and corruption is endemic to the modern Federal government and Ukraine is like a new sandbox.
Another fine mess this bunch of inept placeholders has gotten us into.
Mas. Something that I feel Western media has not given enough time of day to is the treatment of ethnic Russians in Eastern Ukraine post 2014 up until Russia’s invasion in 2022.

I’ve heard reports that it was abhorrent and conflicting assurances that it was a Putin psyop and the only people targeted were Russian proxy forces.

Can you clarify?

Wrong. Thanks for constantly providing the Russian propaganda so it can be ignored.

Putin is just plain dumb. He’s so dumb he got provoked, as you’re saying, into sending thousands of his soldiers to their death. All he had to do was stick to bare chested horseback riding and none of this would have happened. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Russia has always been a proud and geographically hawkish country.

Shame on us for thinking they would accept an antagonistic military alliances on their border any more than we would.

We are headed for a bi-polar world if we aren’t there already.

Unless we are willing to go to kinetic war with China, Russia and her allies (which would be suicidal) we will have to learn to render unto Caesar’s what is Caesar’s and make the best of it.

Has it been more than 24 hours yet?

Putin needs a Pro Russian govt in place in Keiv. That's the one and only goal. This has never been about slivers of land. Trump is lost and absorbed with very short term thinking, and is playing to a domestic audience.
What blows my mind is this: didn't he think if he played his cards right, he could have had a pro-Russian gov't with Zelenskyy? I know he campaigned as pro-Europe, but he was decidedly less pro-Europe than his runoff opponent, right? He was very critical of anti-Russian discrimination by the Ukrainian government. I feel like Putin had a diplomatic solution to his problem before the war even started, and it simply didn't occur to him.

Your links are from 2017 and 2019 (6-8 years ago). I might consider if Trump has made his current policy known.

Well, the links refute Trump has been a "RUSSIAN PUPPET!!!" Maybe Obama was the real puppet?

As for now, why would he reveal his negotiating tactics to the world? The only thing we know Trump gave Russia so far is a public pronouncement that Ukraine will not be in NATO, something the Biden admin didn't understand and actually encourage of Ukraine.

???
Some fantasy world you live in

When I clicked your link on my phone, it took me to the chart and showed the annual data. The screen is too small to see the details. Now that I am on a PC, I can see the details, and it is exactly as I stated. Nov 4th, it was at 39.15. Jan 22, 52.27, and Jan 31, 2022, it was 88.20 and peaked at 123 after the invasion.

So from Biden's election (and months of campaigning to end oil) to his inauguration, oil spiked 33%. About a year late, it jumped again 69%. One could say those increases were due to the economy coming back online. Maybe part of it. But economic data from Q420 showed the economy was coming back. Only an incompetent fool would put a damper on the recovery by limiting oil supply with regulations. Biden could have waited a year or 2 before adding those regulations to allow us to recover from the pandemic. But bowing to the climate zealots was more important.

Edit: Shout-out to @outside shooter for the link to prove my point. Much appreciated.

Again, thank you for the link showing how Biden rhetoric and policies affected oil prices in the year prior to Russia invading Ukraine. I'm sure Putin enjoyed the increased revenue.

Ya, God forbid a nation on Russia’s border should have the right to choose their own path, like the Baltic countries have been doing for 30 years.

Now populists want the world to accept that democracy depends on how far you are away from one-party superpowers? And Liberal Democracies just need to accept it? Where was this talk during his first term?
