Trump/Vance 2024

Only thing hanging on my office wall right now is a giant framed document from 18th century England. It’s about 6 feet long and 4 feet tall. I have no clue what it says. It was there when I moved into the office.

I have next to no photos from my swimming days. Got a few triathlon photos here and there.
When my teams made the tournament it meant something. There were only 28 teams then. Put that shit on the wall. The fck are we doing?!!! That’s like a 48 lsat damnit

Criminal, to the heights of murder, doesn’t compare in complexity and difficulty to complex civil litigation. especially crim and civil at the county/city level where you really have bottom feeders on the state’s side. Harris types. Fed is difft. Much more complex, white collar, far higher caliber of prosecutors and intellect required. THESE ARE FAXXXXXX
Don’t agree at all.

Section 1983 defense is pretty is pretty hairy since all the presumptions generally favor P, not to mention the fee shifting considerations. (My last jury trial was a 1983/state law negligence jail suicide defense). The most complex cases I handled were for public entities as p’s. Both bad construction which we handled in house to successful outcomes.

Any practice is what you make if it. Including public entity law. I might be arguing about an issuer’s counsel bond opinion in the morning and doing an excessive force deposition in the afternoon.

No one cares about my LSAT score. People ask me all the time about swimming and triathlons.
Co-sign with soccer. Tho I know I harbor a seething bitterness about same that I sense they want to provoke. Other than children nothing has meant more to me

Agree that is very difficult. As a bitch lawyer I did complex lit cases (carried the boxes and monitored filings) with Robert Montgomery, Ron motley, Sheldon Schlesinger, Willie Gary, etc that involved big pharm, tobacco, ford, etc and it simply was of a different animal. But yes county city state can do complex civil shit. DA office no

Oh My Gosh Wow GIF by PBS NewsHour
She’s got cankles. Dealbreaker cankles.

LOL yes. I peaked a few years after this.
I peaked a few years before that!!! 🤣🤣. Blessed to have all that though. My daughter and I went to the grad party for my friends’ kid last night. We stayed way too late and just had an absolute blast. Woke up this am and my daughter had another pancreatitis attack. Not sure the deal but we got a room on children’s cancer floor. Kids look like zombies. Just heartrending. That physical strength stuff is truly a blessing and I know you know that in your own personal orbit

Hope she’s doing better. That sucks. When our middle son had his tonsils removed (he was 4 or 5) he had to be stay two nights. It was right before Christmas and we were on a floor at Cincinnati Children’s with kids who had been there for many months. Several had cancer. It was difficult to ask for anything, and incredibly humbling. Felt like we didn’t belong.

With a couple of notable exceptions (one was an attorney whose ins co denied malpractice coverage) , the private clients I had weren’t interested in litigating the shit out if something to establish a point. They wanted the problem solved as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Negotiations was the operating principle. Public clients felt a higher calling which was good and bad.

Yup. Puts things into perspective quickly. My ex and I keep our heads down

Exactly. You just stay in your room and hope no one asks why your kid is there (though pancreatitis is nothing to mess around with).
Yeah looks like we’re going to that hospital outside of Columbus to see their specialist next month

Take your daughter to Easton Town Center while you are there. She’ll appreciate it. Great shopping. My wife and daughter went there two weeks ago for some pre-back to school shopping. It’s pretty nice

This was the best. We had this multi party case all with heavy hitter reps - case was worth hundreds of millions. My involvement was to walk our sj response to the courthouse, file it, and bring back a date-stamped copy. That’s it. I get there and the fcking filing clerk’s office is closed. I’m freaking out and this lady walks by and goes what’s wrong? I told her and she goes don’t worry. I work in the library. I’ll take care of it for you. So I hand her our response and a big binder of exhibits and all that shit and head back.

3 months later it’s set for hearing. Must be 20 lawyers there and I got to go. D motion. Judge goes. We’re ready to proceed with D’s motion and I see P’s haven’t filed a response 😳. That fcking women never filed it and my dumbass never checked back. 6 months out of law school and I thought no one should live like this 🤣🤣

If you want to practice criminal law (or go into politics) you start in the prosecutor’s office.

Don’t disagree. But it’s also a landing spot for attorneys that can’t succeed in public practice.

It’s a heck of a gig in Indiana along with Judges. Crazy good retirement plan that Indiana taxpayers subsidize heavily.

Bitch.

That’d be in the most obnoxious frame right on my office wall.

Mhmmm. Mhmmm. No I understand perfectly what you’re saying. But please. take a beat. Remember. I had a 48. It’s right there just over my left shoulder on the wall
It’s folded up, in a plastic tub, buried beneath some old pictures and stuff in a basement workroom, right next to a cardboard box that has my dad’s ashes inside it.

Like, what am i supposed to do with the box of ashes? My mom told me to take it and it’s been in the workroom ever soncet

Put the poor guy in an urn at least... 😉 You can pick one up on Amazon for under 50 bucks, or just spread em on the Ohio River and let him go on one last vacation...

I have an interest because I bought one for myself so my grandkids would have something to carry me in on their way out to spread what's left of me in the mountains...

I was supposed to expire about this time last year (hence the interest in urns) but it turns out the Lord has decided that I get to hang around awhile longer... (Don't really like the idea of cremation but I really hate the thought of the funeral industry making big bucks off my carcass)...

Apologies for jokingly intruding upon your family decisions, just couldn't help myself given my personal brush with the topic... 😎

Trump is fking the dog, as expected. Deciding to go on full blast attacking Gov Kemp in GA.

Someone with a 60+% approval rating...

Someone who blew out the Trump backed candidate into the Gov primary (Perdue).

Someone that has greatly outperformed Trump and every Trump backed candidate in GA. Herschel!

Seems hell-bent on losing it again. Georgia still on his mind

I've never seen a dumber fk than this clown. Doesn't understand the difference between addition and subtraction. He must think he's still running a primary race

I shook my head in disbelief.

Distrubute them some place he loved.

For me, it would be a giant oak tree that provides shade over the little park I used to take my kids to starting when they were 2 or 3 years old.
