My whole 1st quarter, technically the last 5, have been hellish. I'm off* for 4 whole ****ing days next week.


*off = i don't attend meetings unless I'm told by somebody making more than me (and who could ruin me) says I have to. Emails though, all must be screened. Back ups? **** off.

This is my life. Every time I see some stupid ****ing tik tok about some ****ing Gen Z sayingn "but you don't pay me to work extra." These are salaried positions they are talking about. 8-5. Nothing more. Always less.

A majority of the reviews are based in metrics/data/reporting around goals that are almost entirely based in numbers. That data isn't (yet) exposed

It will definitely "assist" with the soft skills bullshit ****ing crap that nobody really gives a shit about but that for some reason we have to pretend to care about so people who suck at the actual ****ing job they are supposed to do can feel better about themselves and the shit way they've led their livaselgtnasd;gklhs;fgkleg;qjd
 
And he's been doing the work to lower prices since day 1. If you actually thought prices would immediately drop then I don't know what to tell you. Even the most die hard Trumpers never believed that.
He’s doing the opposite. His actions will raise prices. He’s detached from reality

On the few occasions I was in a position to do performance reviews, they were all mostly just ratings of certain characteristics on a 1-10 or 1-5 scale. I never gave 10s or 5s, just on general principles. (No one is perfect. Only exception might be attendance.) Otherwise it was all 9s or 4s. I wasn't going to give the higher ups any reason to fvck with my people. And I was lucky, in that I always had really good people working under me.

I hate it with the heat of a thousand suns. I'm in a position where everybody reporting ot me is a manager of managers or a high level individual contributor (project shit).

I talk to them all multiple times a day. They get hundreds of performance reviews a year. they kjnow exactly where they stand. Performance reviews are guidance counselor worthless, which makes sense considering HR these days.
 
I literally have zero clue how a casino can go belly up- their financial advantage is always 2-15%.
He had opened five casinos in Atlantic City, trying to corner the market. Atlantic City didn't seem to have the appeal of Las Vegas, so he bet wrong on the potential growth there was overextended, and the casinos went bankrupt.

I hear you. In my case, it was low level people and only a handful. They got their attaboys and/or their "WTF is wrong with you"s from me continuously. We worked side by side and did much of the same work. I ran the operation, but my job description was little different than theirs, just that I was the one to set up policies and procedures that we all were to follow, and I was the one that stepped in when those same said policies or procedures had to be bent or broken to take care of a unique situation.
