True meaning of Boiler up?

Does it mean lose a double digit second half lead? Asking for a friend...
I'm not cheering for our little brother. But if they win over Marquette then maybe Dawson Garcia can see that the B1G is so much more a factor than...uh..whatever conference Marquette is in. (As if DG doesn't know already.)

Another IU fan posting in a Purdue thread created by an IU fan on an IU forum. Thanks for clarifying that for us.

It’s too early in the season for you to be this worried about how IU fans feel about PU

Hey, I don’t blame you for being here - I mean, who in their right mind would want to be over at Urine & Black Illustrated?

Way back when, Purdue University recruited railroad employees to play football. That is how their nickname originated. I suspect boiler up relates to railroads. Perhaps it means the water is hot enough to produce steam and therefore power?
I am not entirely sure about this, will try and check my own facts.

If you weren't obsessed with us, you might be on your own board. GFU!

He posts exclusively about IU on GBI and along with others has created a number of disparaging usernames here just to "like" my posts. He claimed to be one of the clowns behind the 'courtsense sucks" chants at PU games.

To answer the original question, one of my staffers tells me "boiler up" is just a cheer that was started by Joe Tiller's wife. I have no idea if that is accurate.

It edged out "Makers, All" in the meaningless messaging contest sponsored by the WL brain trust.

Your staffer is correct. It was started by Coach Joe Tiller’s wife.

Wow, stalking is a pathetic act. He needs counseling. Maybe that is normal for their fanbase?

We get clarification on your little brother status at every Purdue sporting event via your obsessive IU sucks chant. It’s comical. Keep it up.
Speaking of sucking, how’s football going this year?
