Yesterday #9windiana became a reality, not just a t-shirt in Spartyville. In a few hours TopTendiana will also manifest in space and time.

10 Texas A&M lost
11 Clemson lost
11 Iowa State lost 😃

The way has been paved. Can they jump any higher? 8 Notre Dame and 9 BYU did not play. I would put Indiana ahead of the Irish for sure, they lost to a MAC team. BYU has been impressive but I would still give the nod to the Cigniana Hoosiers. 🚬

Will the voters agree? Meh, it's getting late in the season so things are less fluid. It could happen but I'd be a little surprised.

This absolutely won't happen but you can make the argument to put Indiana ahead of Penn State and Tennessee, which would put us in 6th. Again I'm not predicting it but a rational case can be made imo.

Thoughts?

Completely agree with everything here. I anticipate being #10 later today. My hope is that the CFP committee does what they're supposed to do on Tuesday and not take preseason rankings into account. If they do that, we should be closer to #6 like you said. But I'm not getting my hopes up for that.

9th is probably not unrealistic.

8th or higher would surprise me just because of the jump, but maybe not out of the question?

IU would be top 5 if they had started the season receiving votes.

I won’t repeat my post from the other thread but the point spread makes it very realistic for IU to be as high as 8…either way 8,9, and 10 will be very close in votes as 10-13 were last week.

I’m not saying that’s what should happen just predicting based on how the voters usually treat things.,,they don’t like to move teams down on a bye week, etc.

You’re right.

According to ESPN:
ND 961
BYU 918
IU 916

Jason Taylor on VBS said we would bear PSU by 10 points. Watching a B1G podcast, they had IU behind ORE but ahead of OSU and PSU. They said to have IU out of the Top 5 is a joke in AP Coaches polls. It is starting to happen but still not a universal acceptance yet.

Well it used to alternate between 4 and 5. I assume that will continue.
It seems to be according to the future schedules posted online.

In a couple years we take trips to UCONN and UVA and then ND in like 2030.

Assuming at least one of those trips will happen in a 5 B1G away games year, it would only be 6 home games.

I THINK this year was supposed to only be 7, but we cancelled the Louisville game which I believe was on the away leg this year.

Penn State hanging on to #6 is baffling. I am not surprised given they always are given the benefit of the doubt, but their best win is at home against Illinois. Otherwise they have a bunch of close games against similarly underwhelming competition before OSU. Oh well, let’s beat the breaks off of the big names and put the conversation to bed!

How did IU get only 4 road games this year? Is that typical across the conference?
In a nine game conference schedule sometimes you get five home and four road games. IU did this season. Next year IU has four home games and five road games in conference.
