Tony Bennett

If he's not checked out of the game, I'd be all in on Bennett...
I'd take his defensive teams but I would want to see a more uptempo offense. That won't happen with him.

I thought we should have gone hard after Bennett back when we hired Crean and then again back when we hired Archie. Either time I think it would have been a home run. Now? I think the ship has probably sailed for both IU and TB. We’re in a different era at this point. Beard is the gift horse looking us squarely in the mouth right now IMO…

Reality don’t see any retired guy coming back into what’s going to be a complete rebuild. Even with NIL/portal.

Was a solid coach. That said, GTFO. Far better choices and this team would be beyond frustrating to watch and most games would create a nap in game.

Great career, but he had a great job at UVA and quit. My son-in-law is a UVA grad and he said it was often painful watching UVA even when they won. Great D, good shot selection, low turnover, struggle to score. No thanks to Tony B.

Great coach but not the greatest offense. I doubt kids would want to play 50 point games but if a bunch of guys say no I like Bennett just not in my top of my list.

Bennett would win massive at IU. With IU's resources he could keep kids around for 2-4 years, and that's how his teams were winning ACC titles every year.

Bennett is also about as good a person and basketball mind as there is. Having seen UVA up close during those years, their fans would run through a wall for him. He'd bring passion back to the state and IU basketball.

I agree he would do well here. It's a shame he's not an option.
