I agree. Though I’d find it amusing if we went deep into the tourney and Woodson went rogue and announced he’s “decided” not to retire after all. Maximum drama.
Even better. Let him win the whole thing then… fire him. We swim in drama.
Woodson's downfall was trying to be everyone's friend, he's actually a great person, coaching is a business, you can't make 15 promises on playing time, If MMs ass isn't humbled today, he will never get it
Ha. Funny to listen to coaches who greatly prefer IU to be down comment on the IU job. Izzo is another obviously conflicted commenter on our coach.

As always, Woody’s problem is consistency. He pulls out some of these baffling wins followed up by a shit show the next game.
The body of work is what counts and it’s been a big underachievement.
I sure hope he is. MM appears to me to be a solo artist with the attitude, I’m gonna get mine. My shots. He doesn’t play with a purpose on defense and is otherwise lazy. Good for woody for putting him on the bench. These are things woody should have began doing a long time ago. Otherwise known as coaching.
Yes. Being blown out many times by 20+. Losing to northwestern what is it, 4 in a row now? Most in something like 100 years. Getting ass smacked by Nebraska every time we play them. Not defending the three. Inability to recruit and land a legitimate point guard. Lack of enforcing accountability with the players by using the bench (up until Purdue game). Stubbornness with the lineup in playing two bigs when it’s abundantly clear we are much better with 1. Generally, being average in performance is but good enough here. Unless we win the rest of our big ten games, he will have had a winning record in big ten play once in 4 years. His second year where we won 12. Still not great. But that his high water mark. He won 9 league games his first year, 12 his second, 9 last year and looking like 9 or 10 this season. Ira just not good enough and not even close to desired results and expectations. He had his chance. Was given unlimited resources. He failed. It happens. And I might add, he failed by his own standard.
Remember, he said on his arrival his goal was to win / compete for big ten championships and hang a 6th banner:. By his own and shared standard with the fans and the university, he failed. Doesn’t make him a bad person. Just not a good coach and fit at IU and in the college game. Thankful for his effort and service and respect him for trying and bringing us back to Knight and getting him here. If Woody accomplished anything, he healed the fanbase from the Knight days.
