TJD not doing 5/5 at combine…

Hmm, not doing 5 on 5, maybe doesn't want to risk injury, doesn't think he can hit outside jumpers in a more game setting? Whatever the reason, I do wish the best for him even if he decides that means staying in the draft.

He has Covid.
I wonder if this will actually end up helping his draft stock? I imagine he'll show well in all the individual measurable stuff. Really well actually. Playing in that environment could go either way for Trayce. Those games are largely up and down, 1, 2 pass, go make a play type environments. They do set up things for certain people at times, but it would be incredibly rare that TJD would have much of anything in the same fashion he succeeded at IU. Maybe he would end up thriving in that environment, which would certainly boost his stock. But I think just as likely, he'd come across as awkward, and not comfortable in that environment.

If I remember right, Cody didn't participate in 5 on 5, and while he was a likely first rounder coming in, his individual measurables sky rocketed his stock prior to the draft.

Doubt it is nothing more than poor timing. He runs well and I think he would do well in that type of setting. Plus he can show his defense. I think this ends up hurting him. But I suppose we shall see.

I think he needed every opportunity to showcase his skills. Even if he wouldn't have shined in 5v5, I think he needed to over preform to stay in. Jumping high and running fast aren't making him go from 75 to 35.

Now if a GM saw him work 5v5 for 2 hours? He might say, Ill take you at 35 for sure.

Individual workouts mean more anyways.
