So Fatjohns along with HH nutjobs said Otz is out tonight on their podcast? Not that they know anything but curious. Supposedly Drew, Otz, Stevens, and Dusty are absolutely out.
Nobody. Knows. Anything. There’s been no reporting from any legitimate news source, and Fatjohns is not legitimate.

These idiots had no idea Cignetti was going to be the football hire.

Hey… good call on this one. Do you remember who the idiots thought IU would hire for the football coach? Just curious.

They were going on about Paul Cryst and some were talking Jason Candle.
At least the good thing there was as soon as it became 'looks like Cignetti has strong legs' nearly all or at least most became 'hmmm, that could be a really good pick'.

Hopefully the same thing happens now. Even if it's a late bit of a surprise hopefully the resume swings everybody to the 'good pick' side.

Flabjohns says there's no legs.
Rabby also says anything to get clicks. In no way do I believe IU will have an in person meeting with a sitting coach during the season. Are they back channeling with an agent? Could be. They also downplayed all this at the end. Clowns I tell you.

I think when peeps say "meeting" I think that is the gist, that "our Peeps" are meeting with "their Peeps". I'm sure all of these coaches have people who can speak for them w/o the coach actually having a sit-down.

Iowa State is 5-6 the past 11 games, losing 3 of the last 4. They’ve had some injuries, so there’s that. ISU has been blown out by Kansas State and a subpar Kansas team during this stretch. Lost to a sub .500 Oklahoma State recently. Blew a home game against a solid BYU team this week. Not saying the guy can’t coach, as he’s done a nice job turning around the program. What he did in year one is remarkable. His 2 year UNLV stint was forgettable. I’m not one to slam every potential hire. If he’s the guy, then it has the making of being better than what we’ve had with Miller and Woodson. I’ll admit I was very high on Miller when hired. I’ll also admit that I wanted Rick Barnes years ago and firmly believe he would have worked out well. The Woodson hire made me angry as hell. I’d take Oltz, McCasland, McCollum, or Brownell. Any one of these guys if it’s not Beard first. I still believe it’s going to be a guy none of us are discussing, however.

If only there were apps that allowed you to do video chats with folks remotely...

It’s the same as a face to face. The Otz rumors were just as strong yesterday. Those clowns don’t know anything and saying they have a face to face loses them even more ground with Dolson. They are selling for Rabby here. No way I’m buying it. You can if you want.

You don’t say that though. Not on an insider podcast. You don’t say a face to face during the season if it’s back channel. That just incriminates Dolson and Beard. They are selling for Rabby and I wouldn’t believe a thing those clowns say.

I'm not, I'm just saying I think a "face to face" is a lot more likely when the candidate can do it from their office at home in 30 minutes with no one knowing, vs traveling to meet an AD directly. I'd hope by this point the search firm has provided some candidates and our AD has had talks with them via Teams, etc... Still preserves the deniability (if that's important to some one) of saying I've not met with anyone from IU about their coaching position. If we're not using readily available technology, that would be almost as dumb as not considering very qualified candidates.

I’m just saying the rumors about this beard stuff is coming from 3 people. HH and Rabby. That’s it. It’s well known why they say these things.

I'm not talking about anyone specifically. I accepted a long time ago that it wasn't going to be CB. I'm just saying in general, I hope by this time, SD has talked to several coaches directly using Zoom, Teams, etc...

They will but I’d bet they won’t risk doing right now. They are smarter than that.

More risk if they don't, especially if you want to win next year. Signed non-disclosure by both parties. Not a big risk, imo.
I could see concerns from both sides with any sort of "face to face", at this point. But to think there hasn't been some form of communication between Dolson, and various candidates...I think would be wrong, maybe naive... At this point, I'd strongly guess that Dolson either "has his man", in principle...or he has a short list established of coaches he'd like to have, that are also currently interested in interviewing when the time is right for that.

But...its just a guess at this point. No clue how these things play out in the major college sports world.
