Time to quit dicking around!

He was responding to my post which was referencing the guy who's always talking about Pete Yonkman. He's gone so far as to say that Yonkman is essentially "IU's basketball GM".
lol. I wonder where he gets his Pete Yonkman info from. It seems to be a bit much.

I think he might. 8 years working with RMK.
I don't doubt that he'd give IU a listen. Thing is, no way Pam Whitten lets that happen. Not wanting to start the did he or didn't he debate. Pam wouldn't like the look. Texas didn't like the look.

Yea. As much as I want the AD selecting the coach, one thing Pam and the trustees should be reviewing is headline/reputation risk to the university. That is an important part of their jobs. I’m not debating Beard either.

I'm guessing Dolson is in the drivers seat now after doing an amazing job with FB (literally worth tens of millions of dollars to IU) and from what I can tell he wanted to move on from Woody last year (good call!). He has delivered great results as AD. I don't know who he hires, but I think there is a good chance he is left along to make the decision (no more trustee and donor input -- they don't know anything about hiring coaches) and he gets it right. Go Scott go.
Too late we lost Dusty May. I honestly think he would’ve been the perfect coach for IU at this time. He would’ve cleaned up in recruiting this state and he coaches a style that top players would love to play in. Huge, huge loss.

Last year....late in the season when the team was bubble-icious and sliding......Woodson told everybody that he was coming back this season...and that was that. Lets see if he comes out with that kind of statement again this year. If he does....he will be back in 26. It seems that what he says goes.

These butthole posters that come off like the cool kids clique in high school must be overcompensating for what they actually were (are) in high school. They were (are) the ones with the Kick Me signs on their back.

Does she like the look of our last 25 years lol….. point taken

The problem isn't that IU is dicking around.....the problem is that IU is getting dicked around......without the common courtesy of a reach-around. If this clown isn't gone after this season.......For my health, happiness and well-being....I will be.

The Raiders’ owner is bringing in Brady so they have someone that really knows something about football on the ownership team to help pick a new coach.
Wasn't that Fox's rationale for making him a broadcaster? He sucks balls callng games..just terrible.

I don’t know but Romo has been super bad for CBS. For a while it seemed he didn’t know which teams were playing until some time during the first quarter. I don’t think either of them are the sharpest knife in the drawer. Brady has a tiny smidgen of the personalities of the Mannings particularly Peyton.

You don't have to be if you can throw a football accurately. And no I'm not calling all quarterbacks dumb. But some of them are.
In a moment of self honesty they realize how badly they effed this up and worry if it happens again the hoi polloi fans will be out with pitchforks.

There is considerable attention discussing the disfunctional manner Woodson became coach and the adage is that the best disinfectant is sunlight. These people want to be seen as doing good (rightly or wrongly seen as doing good) so countless fans calling out their foolishness isn’t preferred.

Right, here's a pool of candidates who fit your criteria. It's up to Dolson to choose.

When it's all going down, IMO, Stevens won't be part of that pool, nor will Beard, or Pearl, or Donovan, or any of the names we love to bring up.
Well it will probably be another shitshow then

Archie was a reasonable hire at the time. He seemed to have built a good program at Dayton, and pretty sure Ohio State wanted him, and there was interest at other P4 schools.

Nobody at the college level was looking at Mike Woodson when he was hired (nobody at any level, really).
I agree. Archie, Chris Mack and Chris Holtmann were the big 3 coaches looking to step up at that time when hired by IU, Louisville and OSU, respectively. The national media praised the larger schools for each hire.

What's tough is that Brad Underwood came to Illinois at that same time. I wonder if anyone at IU gave any thought to him.

Surfboard Fred was in charge back then. He couldn’t hire a good football or basketball coach to save his life.

Yeah, I was actually really happy with the Archie hire. Now in hindsight, I just wonder if anyone even thought about Underwood.
