I know people on here dislike the term'Creaning' but I'm afraid this will have to happen if IU is ever to succeed again. There are at the very least 3-4 players that need to choose other programs. For their development and IU's goals.A couple of coaches need to be replaced also. A mindset of getting shooters who are great free throw shooters should be a must. IU always has had great shooters. Yesterday,Morgan was triple teamed and NO one could hit an open shot.No one! CAM can be an excellent coach but he has to look in the mirror and make changes-in schemes, recruitment and bench coaches as well as game prep.He might have to trash the d he is using and go man to man and teach help side d.I'll probably get basted on here but I will not wear blinders when things are SO obvious. No one can question my love for IU basketball I've followed them since George McGinnis days. I'm old but even I know change is good when things aren't going well. Plan, adapt and execute.I want CAM to succeed but he has to change a lot of things. Injuries no longer are an excuse for poor play.Enough said.

Durham is about the only guy I trust to make an open shot consistently and he only shot once yesterday. They were sagging off Smith by 10 feet or so. We also don't recognize the other team's shooters and leave them wide open for looks.

I was amazed that Green had zero concept of shooter and time on that out of bounds play in the second half. I think (could be wrong) it was out of a timeout too.

OSU inbounded with only 6 seconds on the shotclock and he got completely lost and left a shooter wide open off a screen. The idiot announcer called out Durham but I am almost positive it was Green.

Players don't stay for the good of the team. If they feel they can do better elsewhere, they will move on. I hope if they are not happy that they do that rather than bitch about their situation for another year.

What coaches need to go? Do you have mole on the team telling you that coaches on the bench are telling Smith to drive through a crowd of people, or have our team shoot poorly? If the assistants are providing bad scouting reports, then they should be replaced. Scouting wasn't the cause of starting out shooting 1/5 with 2 turnovers. We never recovered from the play prior to the first timeout.

Coaching can help some players, but we have at least 2 dumb players with experience making the same mistakes over and over and younger players that haven't proven they are better. This is why we are rebuilding.

I have always been suspicious of the pack line. Maybe the answer is that the current IU players are not well suited to playing pack line?

Given archie wont even sit guys for bad play i dont have high hopes that anyone will be creaned.

I'm fine with the pack line. UAV is winning with it after all. You can see us play hard in stretches where we shut teams down. The only "issue" with it is that we're only playing hard in stretches and it doesn't work that way.

I admit I wasn't a big Knight fan. Tremendous coach and I'll leave it at that. The one thing he did to get his players' attention was to sit their asses on the bench. Is it because Archie is short on players? I would have sat Romeo several games. A lot of talent and a little effort. One of the more appreciated efforts i've seen in years from an IU team was Crean's first team. They weren't very good but they left it on the court. With Knight if you busted it in practice you'd eventually get a shot. Sit them down!

No, Archie is just short...had to say it. Juvenile, I know.

yup, he got schooled big time the last minute yesterday. Holtmann made him look foolish. Two timeouts on offensive end then a turnover? giving up a dunk after they burnt down the clock? Not looking good, man. Crean is an above average coach but a great recruiter and talent evaluator. Miller is, well, nothing stands out so far.

I know you'll find this offensive, but that's a dumb, revisionist statement. Crean routinely lost games despite having professional level talent. Then later he had multiple guys on the roster who had no business playing in the BIG like Priller, Gelon, Niejo, April, Fuchs, etc... 7 & 8 years into his tenure. I'd argue average coach at best, poor recruiter based on trends, and hit and miss at talent evaluation.

You can be mad about the results of this shitty season, but even then, you have to at least admit that Miller is recruiting well at this point.

he pulls players all the time for dumb mistakes. are you even watching the games?
Look I know you love archie but he never sits a guy for a half, etc like knight used to do. Smith always fines his way back into the game no matter what.

Remind me again. Which position was Archie playing?
A coach can only do so much. It is up to the player to execute.
My God man, does he have to play the game for them?
Do you really believe you could get through to these guys?

true, because miller is still trying to win the game. who would you like to play when green gets yanked? phinisee and durham are already playing. you want moore to play a half when smith screws up? forrester, who gets pushed around like a rag doll? miller takes them out for a little but is forced to run them back out there.

Why the heck not. The season is lost anyway and we are not going anywhere.

One advantage IU has is we have 7 games now to focus on preparing to win the B10 tournament.

That is almost 1 month with not having to worry about trying to win each game and prepare for opponents etc...since every single game going forward winning or losing is irrelevant.

Find an offense or defense to add in new, find some rotations to try out without fear of losing a regular season game that really makes no difference. Every game is a scrimmage and an opportunity to prepare for the B10 tournament - our only chance of making the NCAA.

Is it the coach's responsibility to scout, prepare the game and draw plays for his young players while understanding what they are capable of doing? What did they do in practice? What does he teach in practice? I think Ohio St knew exactly what IU would do on both ends. It is not just the players. He got schooled!

Yes, he does take certain players out but for really short stints. The reason for coaching changes [assts.]-players are not responding to their coaching .Offense looks pathetic. This comes from ball movement, spacing ,etc. Either they are being coached poorly or are not responding.I can't read anyone's mind just putting my thoughts out there like all of you do. None of you or I know the entire problems with this team. We all give opinions. I truly want IU to improve. It's just these kids are not displaying the mental toughness and I don't know why.

You are not really serious are you? I think we would have to win like four or five straight in a tournament we have never won and only made the final once. I hear this same thing every year and then we go and get bounced in the first game. I am sorry but us winning the btt would be like the miracle on ice. Not trying to be negative but just realistic.

Be patient!

Yes Im serious...no its not likely at all. These next seven B10 games are absolutely meaningless...except for the B10 tourney prep.

Yes the games are meaningless I do agree with that. But I think we have about as good of shot of winning the BTT as the USA had in beating Russia. I really do.
