He never had a chance. Most of the Senate dislikes the guy. And he shit the bed running the Senate Campaign cmte in 2022. He got like 12 votes first ballot and that was his ceiling

While I agree with this, I would point out that nobody was applying this same logic with Schumer and Biden.

That said, I’m all in favor of Congress providing resistance to Trump’s agenda. What resistance there did end up being to Biden (mostly in the form of Manchin and Sinema) was a healthy thing for the country.

I wish, in retrospect, that the Dems’ Senate leadership would’ve been less deferential to Biden’s agenda.
