Good. I saw some signs last night that, prompted by anger and/or embarrassment (probably), Phinissee after weeks of recovery acted like he had had enough and was going to do something about it.
I thought the same...but then he’d be on the 6 year academic program...As much as we need him, I think it best he sit the rest of the season and take a shot at petitioning for a Medical redshirt year.
His long term health, and potential as a player, are more important than this season's W-L record.
Yeah considering he is already a sophmore class wise and graduated high school early I do not think he would probably even stay six years. .Five maybe. There's no guarantee he even receives a 6th year. Who knows in that time frame if he will even want to stay that long? If he's able to play now, let him play. If he can help at all, maybe it would help his confidence and be a shot in the arm for his teammates too.
As much as we need him, I think it best he sit the rest of the season and take a shot at petitioning for a Medical redshirt year.

of course you realize you know nothing about his current health, nor his potential as a playerAs much as we need him, I think it best he sit the rest of the season and take a shot at petitioning for a Medical redshirt year.

i'll have some of whatever you are takingRace will definitely be a huge shot in the arm and he has a real possibilty of being immediately thrust into the mix for valuable minutes if Race can rebound and make shots. What a huge boost for IU down the stretch in the B1G. IU can finish strong and still make postseason play!
So should Archie keep playing Moore, Forrester and Fitz. If he is cleared to play he is cleared to play. Coach needs to shake something up and give him a shot at playing time.of course you realize you know nothing about his current health, nor his potential as a player

You are 100% correct. And neither do you.
It's about the kid, and his well-being, not a bunch of fans who live vicariously though the ball players.
Yours was a dumb comment, rightly ridiculed. But why don't you text CAM and Thompson and let them know how you feel?
or...it's about trusting the decision of the coaching staff and medical professionals, not fans who know nothing. you act like fans made the call to return thompson to the court. and why are you typing in blue?of course you realize you know nothing about his current health, nor his potential as a player

Or you can take a depressant, and say IU wins no more games. IU is only a shooter away from competing. From what I observed, Race could be that guy. It would open up the entire court for the slashes by Romeo, and the paint for Morgan. Phinisee getting healthy again is also a big boost. Romeo needs to focus on his 3pt and FT stroke and IU can finish above .500 and make the post-season, somewhere. That would be an improvement over the last several seasons of no post-season play. Play with nothing to lose, not playing tentative trying to protect a top 25 ranking, which is off the table now. Vijay Blackmon may be able to provide some minutes if foul trouble to the guards takes them off the floor.i'll have some of whatever you are taking
I may be wrong, but I thought the medical redshirt was if you were unable to play and finish the season while missing over half the year. A player that is practicing at the end of the year is able to play and would not qualify for a medical redshirt. As much as we need him, I think it best he sit the rest of the season and take a shot at petitioning for a Medical redshirt year.

OK. You get rewarded with a deflection.i think you intended this comment for bippy
lol. why do i feel this will carry the same amount of disappointment i had the first time someone told me i get a brownie pointOK. You get rewarded with a deflection.
where was it you observed race looking like the answer?.

I don't know what kind of evidence you need to prove a player is unable to play. If Race had not returned to practice, he could have qualified.
I'm encouraged that the staff has him practicing and would seem to believe he can help the team more by playing now than having 4 years of eligibility left. He may not want to be in school for 6 years.
Or he may. It should be his decision, not that of anyone on this forum.
12.8.1.5 Five-Year Rule Waiver. The Committee on Student-Athlete Reinstatement, or its designated committee,

it deems appropriate. (Revised: 7/30/10, 7/31/14)
12.8.1.5.1 Waiver Criteria. A waiver of the five-year period of eligibility is designed to provide a student-athlete
with the opportunity to participate in four seasons of intercollegiate competition within a five-year

Reinstatement reserves the right to review requests that do not meet the more-than-one-year criteria detailed
