This might be an interesting topic for discussion. DOJ open to considering safe injection sites

Of course the idea is to reduce overdoses; but man this seems like a tacit endorsement of drug use. If opioid use/abuse is the issue why would we subsidize safe centers to do drugs? Why wouldn't we fund more MAT centers to treat the addiction? Talk about NIMBY. Part of So Fla (Delray and others) are already like the Walking Dead with the amount of addicts, imagine having an injection site on the corner of your street.

I don't see the logic here, but thought it might make for an interesting debate/discussion

perhaps the answer to your question is contained within your post.

perhaps you need to not over think what the actual purpose of said sites are, and what they aren't, and that what they aren't, is because it isn't effectively possible.

It's total bullshit. I certainly didn't complain about injecting, but I was severely addicted to cocaine. I was in a drug treatment center for 14 months. I was treated so I could see homeless people doing drugs every day, right in front of innocent civilians? Drugs are evil. I used to think, like everyone else, that once I try it, nothing will happen. But the truth is that what will happen. And so does not only cocaine but also Long Tail and any other strong drug. Take the time to read all the information you can find on the internet before using such things. But again, it's better not to start at all.

Well no one could've possibly seen this coming.

I think their are other variables at play. Pandemic. Defund the police bullshit. But certainly not looking good. I'd say they need to rethink some things. That being said I dont think they should go backwards. If anything they need more regulation.
