this happened somewhere I'm told

Involves coach A coach B an AD and PTB (powers that be)

AD realizes coach B is a hinderance to getting his team to where he thinks it belongs but is under pressure from PTB to not give up on coach B

coach A and AD are having conversations, AD tells coach A you are my man, I want you to run my program, just give me some time we will work it out.

coach A at 1st agrees to be patient knowing that when coach Bs tenure runs its course the job is his, it's his dream job, a gentleman's agreement is in place

coach A's handlers sit him down and say listen you are at the top of the list for any opening that happens in the country you can't pass up a great opportunity for something that may or may not happen down the road no matter how much you trust AD

coach A has conversations with AD and explains to him his situation and says he must look out for himself and strike while the iron is hot, AD says I understand let me talk with the PTB and coach B and see if I can work something out to get this done give me a week before you decide anything. coach A agrees

AD gets with PTB and tells them I've got the guy to lead us for the next 10-15 years I'm confident he's the man to restore us to the level we belong at, and I don't see coach B ever getting us there.

PTB tell AD, although we are not 100 percent satisfied with the results coach B has had, but we think he is making some progress and has had some bad luck injuries etc. that have held his teams back. we think if we can give him more support through NIL and let him bring in the type of players that fit his system, he can lead us back to prominence on the national level, but we also trust your judgement, so let's do this you are authorized to get with coach B , and offer him up to 16 mil over 8 years to step aside , let him leave with dignity, issue a statement like I came here with 1 goal and that was to stabilize the program so that the institution I love can once again compete at the highest level, I feel we have done that and I plan on working in a consultant role within the athletic department for the foreseeable future as we transition to a new coach .

AD tells coach A we are going to make an unbelievable offer to coach B, he will have a titled role within in the athletic department but understands it's your program. you will probably never see him, and you definitely won't be answering to him. am going to meet with him soon to feel him out and will get back to you shortly. coach A says sounds good let me know I've got life changing decisions to make, you know where I want to be, but time is now for me.

AD sets up a meeting with coach B, coach B has been tipped off before AD can get into his offer cuts him off and says I'm not a ****in quitter and don't appreciate you going behind my back trying to replace me. AD says you sure this can be a win win, B gets animated says you heard what I said, maybe you could give me more support if you want better results

AD calls coach A tells him the timing just isn't right I wish you well.

Coach A took another opportunity
If this happened and I’m AD, I resign that day.

Sorry, but the talent is not that good, guards are average at best, no true pg, lazy interior, poor rebounding, and no 3 point shooters! Another coach might make them more competitive, but this team maybe has top 30 talent at best, with a good coach! Never was top 10 talent as sold and hyped on this summer!
That's on the coach.

if you remember the rmk not going 8-10 or whatever it was in this conference bootleg tape, something similar finally happened, pretty much everyone told dont give a shit what your getting paid , bust ass or wont be on the court, no more lazy ass basketball, why took 4 years to realize beyond me, called out individuals, guess who took to it , the players, kids want to be led, will see wht happens , im betting on us sunday dont care what the spreadis
You’re a sadist…

Somebody must be making money off of this clown show.....I don't know who it is....but surely, someone is. I know CMW is laughing all the way to the bank....but who else is cashing in on IU's miseries?
I’ve long held the belief that Woody is a client of Buckner’s wealth management firm. That it’s all a racket running on RMK fumes.

The players are cashing nice checks.

That's part of what makes them suspect. I don't think they aired any behind the scenes stuff until he cut them off. I think they were being somewhat negative about our play and coaching, but don't think they revealed any behind the scenes stuff until they were blacklisted. They admit they were enjoying being in the "inner circle" until they weren't. But a lot of what they are revealing is still 2nd hand.
I see it a little differently I don't think their information was second hand - the Hysterics saw it first hand in Woodson's office.

Now, one can argue that they have an axe to grind because IU banished them. That's potentially true. But IU had to do something - those two were too close to the program and not under IU's control. So they were a potential, uncontrollable liability.

I said MOST of what they revealed was 2nd hand. They were there when he bagged on a recruit and stayed in his clubhouse and ordered pizza, but most everything else was 2nd hand, at best. And, as I said, they didn't reveal it when it happened, only months later when they were blackballed. And, agree, they are clowns and don't need to be around the program, but that should've been known before they were ever accepted in.

Whatever damage has been done....Woodson is the source. Blackballing anyone at this point just means fewer witnesses to the train leaving the tracks. I am looking for a low point since RMK's departure......Apart from the Dakich days......I'd say we have arrived. Granted.....NIL and the portal did not exist before.....but it is a universal fact of life now in college basketball....and, though revolutionary in its impact.....IU has still managed to assume its position, meandering around for sloppy seconds. When money doesn't change anything......the problem is the culture.

What the heck are Buckner’s qualifications to manage wealth for clients?
