The truth never plays well in the Bluegrass - or to @fpeaugh .

This ending speaks volumes:

"Fact is, John Calipari has had a very good run at Kentucky. But his anticipated Big Blue dynasty was derailed on an April night in 2015 in Indianapolis, and it hasn't gotten back on track since. He's absolutely worth keeping as coach, but that "lifetime" contract might look different if the Wildcats continue to fall short of the Final Four the next couple of seasons."

That was a terrific night. I was driving home from Muncie after attending one of my daughter's theater performances at Ball State. I had dvr'd the games and hadn't watched or listened to them. As I got on I65 south of Indy, multiple vehicles with Kentucky license plates and UK decals started streaming past me. I knew then that the 'Cats had lost and those inbred bastards were heading for home with their tails tucked (literally). I laughed all the way home and stayed up until the wee hours watching with glee.

No kidding.

I was working a part-time job to help pay for college for my daughter. Every morning the store would have a meeting before they opened up.

The manager was a basketball fan and (since the Final Four was in Indy and we were getting some people in our store that were in town) he asked who we thought would win. "Duke", some said. "Wisconsin", one said.

It got to me: "ABK".

"ABK"? he asked.

"Yeah, ABK - Anybody But Kentucky".

A solid round of applause ensued . . . ;)

10 years:
7 Elite 8s
4 Final Fours
1 Title

Results speak for themselves. Every UK fan I know loves him. The lifetime contract proves how wrong you’ve been. You’ve been saying he’s on the hot seat and he gets a lifetime contract. Good call.

Every UK fan that I know thinks that they have underachieved under Calislimey.
And, you are stupid.

In principle, I think that a "lifetime" contract is a stupid idea, but on closer inspection its really just a PR stunt.

The "lifetime" contract amounts to a 5 year extension of his current coaching contract, with the "opportunity" to be a paid ambassador when he retires from coaching.

If all he delivers them is Sweet 16's and Elite 8's, yes they do. To a man they complain how KY basketball doesn't feel like KY basketball anymore. I remind them that the players are still being paid to be there and that generally shuts them up.
Maybe you’re not understanding his results.

In his 10 years:
7 Elite 8s
4 Final 4s
2 Championship games
1 Title

What part of that sounds like just Sweet 16s and Elite 8s? Name me a program that’s been consistently better than that.

The key to success is making deep runs or being in a position to each year. Beyond that there’s a lot of luck and matchups involved. Cal puts you in a position to win it all every single year.

For comparison Coach K the last 15 years:
5 Elite 8
2 Final Four
2 Titles

Cal has been much better consistently. And Coach K is regarded by most as the top coach of all time or 2nd best.

Ky fans rail about coach K moving his recruiting in the top 10 kids each year. Coach K since doing so has been noticibly better than Cal. That my friends is proof of disdain for UK fans who are smart enough to understand who the real coach is of the two

Yes and no. The older fans complain because it differs greatly from the days of Kyle Macy, Rex Chapman, etc. The younger fans don’t seem to mind. They haven't known much else and Cal’s methods result in at least a Sweet Sixteen or better most years. They remain everyone else’s super bowl in their minds.

Hey moron. You asked about what my KY friends and coworkers thought about Cal and I told you. None of what I responded to was what I thought of the KY program. Isn't it about time for you to FOAD?

Too bad you cant fix stupid.

No you said all Cal delivers is Sweet 16s and Elite 8s because you have no clue what you’re talking about. You’re stuck in an IU bubble. I educated you and you get upset about it.

I love how no one could provide one single program more consistently successful than UK the last 10 years.

Point proven.

No, he didn’t.

You forgot to acknowledge a big word there, bucko - even though it only has two letters. You espouse Calipari’s 10 year run but far too many UK fans see how he recruited his first 6 seasons (and the results) vs how he has recruited the last 4 seasons (and the results - which have been Sweet 16’s and Elite 8’s). And as HC said, IF that is all he delivers them it’s not going to sit well with BBN.

You don’t think UK fans noticed how they had a Final Four slot open up for the taking in each of the last 2 seasons only to watch it go up in flames? All UK had to do was beat an #9 seed and #11 seed in 2018 (neither who had been ranked all year) and beat a #5 seed who lost their best player the previous game to an ACL tear. They blew it BOTH TIMES!

Look at their recruiting class for this next year. Good players - but not a top 5 guy, no inside player. It’s basically going to be 2019 again with no Reid Travis. IF Calipari goes another year without getting to a Final Four, it will get ugly in Lexington.

But you said it was going to get ugly this year and they just gave him what amounts to a lifetime contract. Your posts here make you look like a know nothing dumbass. Stop now and delete your account if you’re incapable of doing any better. The more you follow fpeaugh around, the dumber you come off. Every. Time. Every. Post. Please stop ruining this place and just leave. No one makes IU fans look dumber than you. No one. Much appreciated.

IF is easy to say but the results speak for themselves. Cal just got a lifetime contract...what in the world is getting ugly?

I just find it laughable that IU fans would criticize UK over results when we’ve been past the Sweet 16 once in 25 years.
