Sure doesn't look like they're set up for that. Not clear they have guys who are going to consistently hustle at the level needed to compete (and it seems like IU's always on the wrong end of the 50/50 battle, but who knows). But even if they did, I think energy disappears when there's no coherent plan or purpose and when nothing is working. Sure looks like "lack of preparation" is the identity for IU. Composure - if they had much to start with - also tends to disappear when there's no coherent plan or purpose and when nothing is working. They consistently don't value the ball. They don't shoot very well, but again that seems to get more glaring when thaey are - for lack of a better descriptor - out of sorts (because they have no coherent plan or purpose or when nothing is working). Bad fouls (again, it seems, mostly when they're out of sorts). The whole is less than the sum of the parts.
I've long ago lost any real expectation that the powers that be will do stuff that the people in charge should do. And I don't even making personnel changes right now. Why wouldn't the media get far harsher with Woodson in post-game press conferences? I have a good guess for how Woodson would respond if they did. Are the admins going to stay invisible if things continue to go south?
And the notion that the staff lacks effort and discipline is particularly galling.
