The Triple B

I’d bet we don’t reduce the deficit any year of this President’s term. I’m very much not good with that, but I think that’s what will happen.
He’s been president for 4.5 years and he’s run a deficit in every one of those years, while crowing about the “greatest economy”- is there any clearer evidence for the brilliance on this dying board that trickle down supply side voodoo economics doesn’t work?

In post-Reagan times that actually traces back to McConnell‘s epiphany that Republican administrations can run all the deficit they want and the public will still blame it on Democrats.

Hmmm...... I wonder why that is?

Maybe because the programs that are breaking the country were started by Democrats? Or that, despite growing revenue, Democrat proposed spending far exceeds revenue?

What a mystery......

Just since we have little time left, the end is near, I will say this D has wanted a freeze or even a 1% cut. But I note that isn't popular with Ds or Rs.
I wish Republicans in Congress cared about reducing deficits and debt. The Senate bill will increase both to the tune of about $4 trillion more over 10 years. :(

It would be nice if somebody torpedoed the Big Bullshit Buttphuque but alas methinks only a bunker buster could penetrate this deep morass of spending.

I agree 100%

And I'm all for slashing defense spending. It's out of control.
I think the BBB adds about $90 billion to defense spending. There’s no mood for any cuts, let alone slashing. Everything needs to be looked at for cuts and freezes.

We should either slash the budget and shrink our deficit and debt or renege on all our T-bonds owned by China (even if that’s technically impossible—I don’t care—let Musk figure out a way) and let chips fall where they will.
