The Elon Musk hate

Very cool.

We’re mostly Tipperary, and have lots of info on the ancestry as far back as the 1850s, with some towns and street addresses.

I’m pumped for the trip. Not excited about driving, though. How’d you do with driving on the left side of the road?
The driving wasn't too bad once you get used to it. Leaving the Dublin airport was the worst part of it for me. You're just getting used to things and there seemed way more roundabouts than there needed to be. After about a half a day, you totally get used to it.

It’s not the driving on the left side. It’s the issue with many of the country roads only being about 1-1/2 car widths. And then there are usually large hedges on both sides. So, you think, okay, if some big lorry is coming the opposite direction then I can just go into the hedge so he can get by. The only problem is that behind most of the hedges is a damn thick stone wall that’s been there since about 1600. It ain’t moving and it’s right up against the other side of the hedge.

But, then, the Guinness is about 14 times better in the pubs than it is here. What we get passes for water there.

Why is it so hard to acknowledge both sides have lunatics and threats aren't just on one side.

Once you steadfastly identify yourself as being on one side or the other, you are then subject to becoming blindsided.

Blindsided to the point of consciously, or unconsciously, thinking your side is always right.

One side remembers the so-called Summer of Love, and the other side will never forget January 6th.

We like to think of ourselves as concerned patriots, when in fact we are party loyalists.

I have ancestry from Northern Ireland, county Ulster. I haven't been there, but I did do a two week family vacation touring Ireland but not going into Northern Ireland.

Amazing trip! Countryside, castles, rocky coasts, Skellig Michael. Dublin was fun, but the Irish countryside is amazing. Though it takes effort to drive on the left, on 10 ft. wide 2 way roads, driving a stick shift and shifting with your left hand, looking ahead for cars so that one of you can find the occasional pull-out to be able to pass.

Rosie O’Donnell threatened to leave the country.

Promises made. Promises kept. 🐐 move by her
Liberals who leave the USA to live in more white English speaking countries don’t impress me.

It is less an effort to go to "more white English speaking countries" than it is to go to countries where white nationalism / hate is not mainstreamed and where you are outside of the Trump/Putin/ Kim Jong Un wannabe dictator bro-fest
Yamal and vini jr can’t play in Europe without being subjected to racist chants 🤡

That's precisely why we are in this mess. The two party system is failing and there are no other options. So we wind up with animosity. When have you ever supported or agreed with an opinion or stance that Trump or Republicans didn't back?
I agreed with anyone that was against lockdowns during Covid. Trump absolutely blew that. Anything else?

Musk deserves a lot of credit for how he has gone about things. The country has been complaining about waste, fraud, and abuse, in government for decades. Some of what Musk has cut has even been exposed by the GAO, the agency tasked with cutting waste, fraud and abuse. But much of which the GAO has discovered has not been corrected. Nobody did anything about it. Let that sink in. Nobody did anything about it. Why? Because too many vested interests benefit from waste fraud and abuse, maybe not directly, but by living off the infrastructure that fosters waste, fraud and abuse. Those people are a noisy bunch.

What make Musk different is he not only is exposing the problem, but doing something about it. Yeah, there probably is some good stuff being cut, that’s life. Get over it. We need to do what Musk is doing so we can . . . Ahem . . .bulld government back better.

Senility is an unfortunate part of aging. You can support Musk or Trump's positions all day, but the way they have gone about doing things is hardly sound and helpful.

JDB, in the past we've had blue ribbon committees made up of mostly successful businessmen recommend ways to eliminate government waste, fraud, and abuse. Somehow most of the recommendations failed to survive the three branches along with the checks and balance system as established in our Constitution.

JDB, you and I may question the way Trump/Musk are going about doing what they call eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse. However, maybe they can pull something off with the good accomplished out saying the bad.

Then again, they may be just causing all kinds of turmoil with nothing but negative results.

she posted a video! She made her move into a virtue signal.
I’ve actually been to her house. I can’t remember if it was a garage sale or she was moving or what but my ex wife tracked down the sale and made me go. She was apparently upstairs while my ex wife was like a piney woods rooter rummaging through her shit
