Yes, NKU couldn't hit their asses with either hand, but our pressure was forcing more hurried shots., By pressure I mean we guarded them closer near the 10 second lineand made the guards work harder tp pass the ball. I started to say offense, but NKU doesn't have much of an offense other than throwing up 3s. I thought the campus police and firemen at halftime ran more offense than NKU

We allowed NKU to cross halfcourt more easily and did not pressure them or push them back to the 10 second line. NKU had more time on the shor clock to find an open 3, or at least find #22.. We listened to Woody in the car and he wasn't happy with the second half. I'm glad to hear that and another sign he understands the type of play IU basketball fans have wanted.

A final thing, Btown without students is mildly disappointing. We went to Nick's after the game for a beverage and food. It wasn't busy and they had stopped selling food. WHAT? A check of the ole www showed Yogi's was open. Again, not busy and full of NKU fans. Wasn't a fan of the old Yogi's food menu and the new location's menu seems the same. On a positive note, How many times have we been able to visit two establishments after a game?It was a late trip home, but worth the trip,

Yeah, covid has had to really suck for restaurants and bars. I think it's going to take awhile for things to return to normal, if they do. I think a lot of people have gotten used to staying home and won't necessarily go back to their old schedule.

Bloomington nightlife is pretty dead any time students are on break. It's been that way forever. I assume most college towns (especially those where the campus is the main driver of the local economy) are a bit the same. That's been my experience anyway.

IU built a 28 point lead after 30 minutes. That's when TJD left the game.

NO I in the 2nd half had:

20-25 min: 12 pts- 4 x 3pts plays, 2 of them 3pt shots
26-30 min: 9pts- 4 x 2 pts jumpers and a freethrow
31-35 min: 11pts- 2 x 2 pts, 4 FTs, 1x3pt. IU up 22.
36-40 min: 15 pts.

was so excited to head to Nicks a few weeks ago while in town. Got there early evening and was told at least 75 mins for food and the manager was a total asshole and clearly didn’t care if we were there or not. Had never experienced that in the 25+ years since college. Very disappointing

Service industry is an absolute mess in Bloomington. i have had this conversation with a ton of my friends, but 18-30 year olds are the laziest most unreliable people. It is insane how many just straight lazy people there are. Mind boggling actually. No appreciation of a dollar, and no motivation to earn it. Doesn’t make much sense to me.

maybe that was the biggest difference.... you didn't care for my comments when I noted the stark difference in ambience amongst Notre Dame, Muncie, Indy, and B-town when I was up there in early October. From someone who hadn't been to Indiana in about a year a half, I'm telling you B-town felt different. Maybe it was my Nicks experience after all! LOL

I have been to 2 out of the three this year, Bloomington has very nice spots. For example, Malibu before the game was perfect and great service.

you have to pay up for that now, and the smart places (had lunch at uptown a few days ago that was fantastic) have ponied up.

this is not a bloominton problem, tho. Happening everywhere.

Interesting prediction.
Covid has and will continue to change society. People shop even more via on line orders. Businesses have learned that some jobs can be done remotely and they do not need to pay for as large an office commercial area.
If people are home more often, some may see going out to eat as a way to avoid the “at home percent time”.
I do not feel Covid is going away. We will have to learn to live with it.

that's why I'm glad I live in the south.... I don't agree with everything that conservatives hold near and dear to their hearts, but the attitude toward COVID and continuing to live our lives has been spot on in my opinion.

There is also a worker shortage because people are being paid by the government not to work. People will almost always grab onto free money.

I was at the gym working out next to two 30 ish year old guys.
One asked if the other was going back to work. The guy said no, I am making 90% of what I made and do nothing.
Every restaurant, business, hotel has a sign saying now hiring.

A lot of them aren’t living their lives anymore though. Because the virus killed them.

Enhanced unemployment benefits ended in September.

And unemployment is down to prepandemic levels.

Main factor driving labor shortage now is immigrant labor that is far below prepandemic levels. And not just Hispanic and central/South American immigrants, but European and Asian immigrants that play a huge role in the service industry and had issues with travel restrictions and/or visa processing backlogs.

You’re an imbecile when it comes to this issue. Let’s compare ALL the statistics (don’t cherry pick) amongst the liberal lockdown states vs the free conservative states. What good did it do CA, New England states, etc…. To live under their authoritarian regimes these past 2 years? I’m not saying COVID doesn’t kill. I’ve seen it live in person many times. But how on earth have lockdowns helped anything?
