The Democrats winning strategy?

Seems like a solid strategy to win over voters. No?
Obama’s “you didn’t build that” was taken slightly out of context. In context it’s still a stupid, even if somewhat truthful, point to make that operates from a flawed premise (corporations and the wealthy don’t pay their fair share).

Schumer’s ham-fisted “can you believe these yokels want to pay less taxes” shows how the Democrats are in desperate need of a leader that can communicate again.

He’s so awful

For what it's worth, I've seen some people on the left call for him to step down. I don't think a lot of people are happy with where the party is at with him largely the face of it.
I would hope not. But your party is in complete shambles. There are no leaders. AOC, Crocket, lol.

Long term I think the Democrats have the potential to be in much better shape, if they lean into some of the governors who know how to win elections.

I’m not sure who picks up the mantle for Trump. I don’t think Don Jr is the answer.

AOC is going to be a loud voice, but won’t be a leader of the Democratic party

AOC rumored to be eyeing his seat. The future of the Dem party.

Govs don’t have a shot. It’s AOC. she’s the party. She’s got the young and they’re pushing out the old. Celebs. Media. Social media. The left is AOC. She’d be smart to figure out a way to champion the trannies while bringing in Fetterman etc and focusing on workers and prices

A complete misunderstanding of our country. And so typical of lifetime government employees.

Maybe it’s time to set up another condition before one can enter government service - Ten years in the private sector.
Spot on. Only correction. A misunderstanding of what made our country great

We have a divide in values and how we see America. Crystallized.

Nah - I think she’s hit her ceiling. She’ll be around for awhile, but she’ll never be a leader in the Democratic party.
Agreed. And to even be in the conversation for ‘28, she would need a better gig in the interim. No one goes directly from the House to the presidency.

I think there’s a good chance someone emerges from this group: Andy Beshear, Chris Murphy, Jared Polis, Wes Moore.

Maybe it's just a function of the dark corners of stupidity I frequent, but the only people I see calling on Schumer to disappear are the far left who think, for example, agreeing to keep the government open was a fundamental betrayal of liberal ideals.

Schumer had to not let the government shut down. I think the Republicans wanted him to shut it down. They get what they want, Trump literally deciding what is open and closed, and the Democrats to blame.

The far left is crazy if they think they win that battle.

It’s crazy to me anyone believes the Democrats might have better future leadership than Republicans following Trump’s term. There are several good options for Republicans. Dems, not so much. Especially the way Dems seem to be moving at present.

I get that. I saw some people saying that Schumer should probably not be Democratic leader after he was on the View talking about people complaining about being taxed too much

Don't get me wrong, we could do far better for leadership. I'm just saying I see a lot of people who have been going after him for weeks, and none of these people are the people I think could possibly lead us to electoral success.

It's always lose-lose for the Dems when there is a government shutdown. If the GOP control government, the Dems get blamed for not acquiescing. If the Dems control government, they still get blamed for not working across the aisle. Best to just keep the government open, and tell your voters that you couldn't in good conscience let the Repubs take away paychecks and social security, so you acted like the adult in the room.

I think we’re on the same page here. Maybe my first post in this thread cast too wide a net. I don’t think any moderate (ie electable) Democrats saying anything about Schumer publicly.

Both Colorado Democratic senators voted for the shutdown. I thought they were both solid common sense people. Now I’m not so sure. See Seems like the only Democrat principle is to oppose Trump—no matter what. AOC Is perfect for this model.

At least in this case, they get to hide in the crowd. Plus, most anyone whose vote could be changed by this will have long forgotten about it before anyone votes for anything.

Dems don’t know how to transition.
That is their problem now they left the working class. They can try and win with angry white college women but its not enough which was just proven. And just pure hate is not a winning strategy bashing maga nonstop is not going to win you voters though I guess it makes them feel better . You actually need a moderate platform. I just dont think they can pivot because the far left controls the party now. Moderate platform meaning don't go all in on trans stuff for one. That is a huge loser for them. Do not claim you are shutting down the border when you are not. Texas voters proved they did not buy that bs. Voters near the border see the real deal a white liberal in new hampshire has no idea on the border.

People like bowlmania will say I am the worst person in the world for voting for Trump. There would be no Trump if republicans had actually done what they had promised for 25 years. Id probably vote for a clinton type today if the dems had a guy with the same policies honestly. I have not been a republican for years. Until dems understand this dynamic they will not be able to change. And so far it seems they are not capable except a few on them. And we really dont care what guys like bowlmania say it means little to us.

You don't care what Bowl thinks, yet you constantly bring him up.

Do you charge rent for that space he's got in your brain?

The Democrat’s need some masculine energy in that party. A Teddy Roosevelt, JFK type. Someone tough that can win back the male vote, but also holds true the Democratic Party ethos of lifting up the downtrodden.

I got just the guy.

Sounds like Rahm wants to run

Emanuel said on Friday night that government has allowed the city to become too "permissive" on crime and has fixated on niche liberal issues like transgender bathroom policies rather than dealing with plummeting education standards.

"I don't want to hear another word about the locker room, I don't want to hear another word about the bathroom. You better start focusing on the classroom," Emanuel told the "Real Time" panel, featuring host Bill Maher and liberal pundit Fareed Zakaria.

Rahm Emanuel Is Gearing Up to Run for President
The former Chicago mayor is already on the hustings, finding new ways to attack Trumpism from the center.

Just my opinion obviously, but the last thing the Dems need is an old (late 60s in 2028), doesn’t-know-when-it’s-time-to-retire, polarizing ex-mayor, Clinton-era political operative.
