Maybe we can stipulate that a whole fvckin’ bunch of money - several billion ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at - was spent to buy the government.

If the government were to end all EV subsidies over night, that would be probably the single best thing that could happen for Tesla. No other EV manufacturers would be able to compete, to the extent they even can currently.
