The Border

This is a big part of why Trumps approval rating keeps climbing despite the DOGE nightmare.
I don't know where some of you are getting the idea that his approval rating is climbing. His approval rating is not climbing, it's falling. There have been three straight polls showing he now has a net unfavorable rating. I linked all three of them here yesterday and today. Fact is he entered office with the second worst favorability rating for a President since WW2 - only his opening favorability rating after the 2016 election was worse.

He's peaked, and he's expending political capital on some dumb things (nominating an unqualified moonbat like RFK Jr, the Gulf of America, blanket firings of federal workers, etc.) and it's going to get worse.

Polling data isn’t any better than the knowledge of those polled. NPR, CBS, NBC, NYT, AND WaPO lie either by commission or omission about deportations, Guantanamo, DOGE, birthright citizenship, Gaza, and Ukraine.

He's not at 4% though, so he's got that going for him.

@twenty02 do you think your take on the border bill was wrong now? Or do you think us conservatives are still dummies for not taking it? Also, I’m just curious on your opinion. I’m not trying to spike the football. I always have Bitcoin to do that 😁

I think we'll know a lot better answer to this in probably a year or so. The lawsuits have only now just started flying. Executive actions can obviously have immediate impact, whether they have any long term staying power will come down to court decisions. If the courts decide that Trump isn't following current laws with regard to asylum claims, then we'll be right back to where we started.

I personally don't think that Trump's actions will withstand legal scrutiny. But I'm not even a lawyer, let alone an immigration law expert. I still believe that how you fix the asylum mess (and immigration policy overall) is through legislation, not leaning upon executive action.
