The bike sprint test at Georgia. Clap clap clap clap clap. LOL!

Same old Creaner. Says dozens of words but doesn’t really say anything at all.

“It hits us every day that we’ve got nine new players, Crean said. “And that’s a tough thing, but it’s also a good thing in the sense that there’s a lot of teaching and learning going on, there’s a lot of competitiveness coming out. We’ve got to have a really strong perspective with that. But at the same time, take this time to get them the demands that they’re going to need to go into this season."

Hahaha - keeps sending guys to NBA and recruiting guys to go to NBA...

Archie’s 2 seasons equal the worst of Creans final 6.

Crean was let go after losing in a year losing: OG, Blackmon, Hartman, and Morgan to injury...one year after winning the B10.

People on here whine about losing Phinisee to concussion for 3-4 games...in making excuses for Archie...

You dumb shit. Lots of good coach’s first two years at their school were worse than Crean’s worst in his final six. That’s the stupidest argument ever. How dumb are you?

Hmm — Archie just got a guy into the NBA. Weird.

Crean got fired because he was inconsistent AFTER getting time to build the program.

But cool that your cognitive disability and emotional issues have once again made you a fan of Crean. Find their board. Join it. For f***** sake...please.

Most schools and fans expect improvement when they fire a coach and hire new...

Archie has yet to deliver improvement...instead matching 2 of Creans worst years in his final 6... without the 2 B10 Champs Crean delivered, and w/out as severe injuries Crean faced the final year in OG, Morgan, JBJ, and Hartman...

And yes I will root for Crean, similarly to how I do for Davis, Sampson and past IU players as well...

Most schools expect an adjustment period when a new coach comes in. Lol. Last year was a big let down but is not a trend yet.

Again, you keep making that dumb argument about Crean’s worst two years...in his last six...or whatever . Why? when lots of coaches fell below that before having successful careers. Weird.

Ahh — you root for all those ex IU guys but not IU’s coach. Got it. You are really bad at this fan thing but GOT IT.

I’m way overdue ignoring you, ya sad turd.

Crean just led Georgia to their worst season in decades with an near NBA first rounder (picked 17 spots after Romeo at 31st) along with a four star guard.

Per Feepaw that makes up the most talented roster since the 1967 UCLA Bruins and an absolute embarrassing dumpster fire....right?

And F off on Blackmon. Anyone who knows anything knows he was never injured. He missed exactly three games from an 'injury in practice' and then came back on a short turn around after his third game vs Purdue, started and played around 35 minutes. Blackmon had a lot in common with Devonte Green and Kaleb Wesson last year to be 'blunt'.

Crean was fired because of inconsistent seasons, because he was weird as f-socially awkward- narcissistic emotional teenaged girl who destroyed his recruiting backyard from f'ing players over (see his recruiting after he screwed over Patterson or when he publically went after Lyle's....see narcissistic emotional teenaged girl) to where high school coaches shut him out. Add to it his recruits had a history of getting into trouble with the law for being....well stupid (seriously guys, you tried to use a fake id in Bloomington???).

Crean was a hot mess and an emotional wreck.

He's actually a good offensive coach, a good eye for talent and a good developer of talent. His problem is he's a spaz. He pushes a silly pace to match his spaz level (his offense isn't bad but it's too bad he couldn't let them run it at a pace that enabled them to actually get some rhythm) He's a compulsive tweeker. He has no core identity.

Oh and your 'worse than Crean's worst in his last six' is dumb as f. Why, because Crean had nine years to establish his culture. Archie gets some run up time, especially after the leftovers that Crean left him with. You might have a point if Archie had the same roster that Crean had his last season. No he had McRoberts and McSwain instead of Blackmon and Bryant....and he still won more conference games than Crean did his last year.

Oh yeah, your dumbass argument doesn't really hold much water when looking at conference record does it. Ya know when the competition is more normalized? Remember when Crean finished 8th, 7th and 10th in 3 of his last 6? Archie has a 6th and 9th in his first two seasons with a shell of what Crean had.

Maybe he will stop supporting CTC on here when people here stop ripping on CTC every time they see even a remote connection to CTC.

Doesn't offense include TO's? That was my gripe against Crean offensively. Hard for me to understand a coach at this level that downplays turnovers. But yes, I would agree, he got decent talent for his offense and was good about letting them run and run it.

If you look at his past posting history, there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that he will change his critical posting of Archie. He is all-in negative, along with a few others, and no way out. When Archie establishes IU as elite, where will he go..

I often think people aren’t so pro/anti coach as much as the are up/down on program. In other words, Archie gets the frustration of missing 8 out of last 11 tournaments more so than if a consistent program had 2 mediocre seasons under a new coach. Catch 22 is when does the same old song and dance have a shot of turning corner. I’m giving him benefit of doubt but admit my fandom is a fraction of what it used to be. Takes its toll over time. Meanwhile, no new generation to replace fans is occurring.

Crean couldn’t recruit the state and the APR was so bad IU would have been sanctioned by the NCAA and maybe given a postseason ban. He ran his 2012-13 team into the ground and a once promising season fizzled out. There were all kinds of off court incidents and good players transferred. He is a bad coach who should have been fired years earlier.

Archie isn’t getting it done either but the problems with this program start at the top with McRobbie and Glass.

Crean underachieved with some of the players he had, from og to oladipo and so on. You should be glad he’s gone. He was never making a final four, he was so damn creepy. Sure he has Edwards coming in but that’s only because Edwards is from ga and wants to be the man. Crean will cater to him and allow him to shoot 49 times a game even if his teammates are playing really well. Edwards will help them win a few games, but he’s not going to get them into the tournament. They sucked last yr and will suck this yr.

it hurts my brain to read CTC speaking in his overly-philosophical coachspeak way. Sounds like the honeymoon is already over down there.

His weirdness ruined what was his high point at IU- winning the B1G regular season at UM, and going after Meyer as the teams were shaking hands...with cameras still rolling. I suspect he thought he was sticking up for IU nation at that point, but it was horrible timing on his part, after a game that felt like a 2 hour heart attack.

CAM needs to get things moving forward in the coming months so we can all move on and stop talking about CTC. Someone mentioned the 'Cuse game the other day and I started twitching.

I believe a big part of the TO issue was because he kept pushing pace, which is part of his squirrel spaz personality.

Faster, faster, FASTER!!!

Archie Miller and Tom Crean may be on the opposite ends of a coaching philosophy spectrum. Tom Crean really had hit his ceiling at Marquette. He had turned that ship around. He improved lots there and at IU. But he didn't exploit matchups, had no sense of X's and O's, and his substitutions were based on a metric that had no game flow to them. His recruiting was not to a system that was recognizable and was so hyper and scattered in his messages that it became just noise. His hype of everything and lack of player discipline was only exceeded by his turnover and offensive hurrying and underemphasized defense.

Once Archie Miller gets players into position that have experience in his sytem we will see a team that improves throughout the year. Paramount in all of this is having a PG that really is effective. RP just might fill the bill this year.

I can understand why Glass stuck with Crean for so long. I can understand why Indiana had trouble getting a decent coach after Sampson. I just can't understand why IU hired Crean who didn't understand fundamentals of basketball. Crean has been quoted lately that he didn't get support at IU. It really was not a good match.

As an aside about Meyer and Crean, sure Crean was out of line and looked nuts. But Meyer had set Crean up. They had had words during the handshake...and Meyer allegedly F-bombed Crean after Crean called him out for unfair recruiting. That whole game was strange with one of the opponent's players standing in front of IU's bench and going off. And an IU recruit was behind the opponent's bench and that had worked negatively on our coaching staff and players. And those antics were obviously supported by UM coaching staff. Bad form all around. Furthermore please note that Meyer was on Sampson's staff and allegedly got a deal with IU and the NCAA when he gave both information on Sampson's cheating. At one point, Meyer was going down...next thing we knew he walked. He wasn't clean...he cheated too. So Crean was correct...Meyer did help ruin IU's basketball program.

Understood...I'm aware of Meyer's role. And I was somewhat supportive of Crean at the moment. But looking back now, it took away from what the team had just accomplished. Bad optics for the program. No one on TV knew who Meyer was. Crean was the tan face of the IU program.

And I feel the 'ruining' of IU's program has been a slow drawn out 20 yr+ process with many guilty parties. Meyer probably doesn't make my 10 most wanted list.

Turnover Tom now on the list that played a role in keeping IU down since Miles Brand set up RMK for removal.
