The kick was directly to Campbell, hugging the inside of the left hash marks all the way from the tee. He hardly had to move to catch it: just a couple small steps backward. Simple cost-benefit analysis says it should have been hugging the left sideline (or the right). With about a minute left on the clock, an out of bounds kick is an acceptable risk, especially considering OSU's lack of success passing the ball.
So, is the failure on the coach(es) for a bonehead plan or is it on Oakes for not kicking it where he was told?
