Testimony focused on Trump's unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud

Do you know another House committee where the majority leader tells the minority Party who they can appoint to represent their own Party? I don't.
That's complete horseshit. First, legislation was drafted for the establishment of an independent commission (much like the 9/11 commission) that would have consisted of 10 commissioners - - five Republicans and five Dems - - with subpoena power. A Pub chair and a Dem chair would have had to approve all subpoenas, with a final report due from the commission by the end of 2021. McConnell and his boys in the Senate torpedoed the bill.

With respect to Plan B, the Select Committee, Kevin McCarthy picked Rodney Davis, Kelly Armstrong, Troy Nehls, Jim Banks and Jim Jordan. Pelosi did not object to Davis, Armstrong and Nehls, but rejected Banks and Jordan. Both Banks and Jordan had opposed certifying the results of the 2020 election, and had been critical of the formation of a select committee in the first place. I think even you can probably understand why, given those factors, their inclusion on the committee would have been wholly inappropriate.

After Banks and Jordan were rejected, McCarthy took his ball and went home. He pulled the remaining three from his list and refused to make any more appointments.

Can you give the bullshit a rest - - even for just a day?

Move to russia where your fascist Trump worships their leader ;) I'm sure you'll be much happier there. maybe trump will let you join in the pee showers.

Called it. Non-answer. You're just not good at debate, Amber. You can go back to supporting Biden and the other child groomers now.

People wonder where right-wing cultists would have fit in, in (say) Germany in the 1930s. It's pretty clear, though.

Of course we don't need to wonder where left wing ideology fits in. Check out any communist country. Communism is about as far left as you can get.

All you have to do is answer a simple question - were Republicans allowed to seat their own representatives - the ones of their choosing - on the committee?

You know the answer, which is why your post is so full of hot air.

Six years? The Committee's investigation of Trump's efforts to overturn the election relates to his misconduct since November 2020 - - 19 months ago.
So you want to ignore the 2016 - 2000 witch hunt that was the Russian Collusion Hoax?

Sorry - not gonna happen.

Republicans were allowed to seat 3 of their five nominees, with two excluded for their active support or participation in the insurrection.

Republicans were then allowed to seat any two Replacements of their own choice.

Trump told them to whine, moan, take their ball, and go home. Make no selections AT ALL. Withdraw the prior selections, even. Like any dutiful cultist, McCarthy complied.

Like any dutiful cultist, many people here continue to ignore these facts.

I do know what happened and you're being dishonest.

You know the minority Party has always picked it's own representatives on House committees and that did not happen with this one.

Make all the excuses you want - it doesn't change reality.

You Beta Boys really think a politician will be prosecuted for asking for campaign contributions. This is going to be fun. They'd have to prosecute every politician because that's a swampy mess of an abyss they all swim in. Look at how the dems try to raise money off of dead children. If the dems had a legitimate case against anyone in the Trump organization it would already be in a real court and not this kangaroo court.

Here's how sad it is right now - the chairman of the sham committee, Bennie Thompson, said yesterday there will be NO criminal referrals against Trump or anyone else. Put that in your Hunter Biden signed crack pipes and smoke it. Bennie Thompson quote, "we don't have the authority".

6/14/22 Forbes: Democrat's Midterm Nightmare - Polls Suggest Party Could Face Historic Loss
Trump was not asking for campaign contributions but instead created a fund called the "Election Defense Fund" which in fact did not exist. The money instead went into his own PAC, not exactly what he was telling the donors.

In case you missed it the Trump organization is in a real court in which son Eric has taken the 5th amendment 500 times but I am sure it wasn't because he had something to hide. Poppa Trump has also been ordered to testified and here is a bet he tops Eric in the 5th amendment category. There is also a little matter of the grand jury in Georgia he is facing also.

Finally Bennie Thompson saying there will no criminal referrals against Trump because they don't have the authority should make it clear this not a court in the first place but a hearing about an event that will become a permanent fixture in the history books. It remains to be seen what the DOJ will choose to do but criminal charges still remain an option for them.

As respectfully as possible you wouldn't recognize reality if it was standing in front of you.

OK, since Euroclydon appears to have ducked the question, I'll pose it to you:

Do you think it would have been appropriate for Hillary Clinton to serve on the Benghazi Committee that was investigating the attack in Libya?

Which, according to Trump, means he's guilty.

She wasn't in the Senate or House then, so no, she shouldn't have been.

But would I have a problem with her on it if she was an elected official? No, why would I? I want the entire story. And she did get a chance to tell her side. I certainly wouldn't have a problem with Nancy being on the committee and she was involved in the decision not to call in the National Guard.

I don't get why you think that's a gotcha question.

Invoking the 5th is amateurish. They should follow the Democrat standard response of "I don't recall".

Because it is a conflict of interest to have a member of a committee also being a subject of the investigation.

Heck, there were people here claiming that the Sussman trial should have been a mistrial because a jury member's kid was on the same soccer team as a child of the defendant. If a soccer mom can't be trusted to be impartial, I can't imagine that a swarmy politician being able to manipulate the investigation from the inside is going to be even remotely better.

Oh yeah, he's been up to his ass in legal jeopardy for how long now? 6 years?

Wake me up when any charges are files, rube - you suckers keep eating all that crap the media shovels down your throats.
Trump has spent a significant portion of his life in court rooms, including the times when he was a "Democrat" or even non-political. So he's been in "legal jeopardy" or putting others in that capacity for far longer than the past 6 yrs...

But this is not an issue that is common just because someone is wealthy. Plenty of wealthy people have good reputations, don't have multiple lawsuits filed against them or against others on their behalf, aren't repeatedly accused of sexual harassment or worse. Not all wealthy people are fined for running fake universities or accused of multiple other types of fraud.

So what is it about Trump? At some point doesn't the idea of always blaming others, and not realizing that Trump bears some responsibility ring hollow?

The weirdest thing about the Trump cult to me is that people in it don't seem to have any understanding of Trump's history, other than his career as a reality tv star, and how he remade himself from the moment he announced his entry into politics. It's weird to see people Trump never had time for or any interest at all in previously, willing to go to jail or donate their hard earned money to him because he "asked"...

Years from now when we're all gone and the emotional attraction to Trumpism has been eradicated, historians are going to look back and wonder what type of Huey Longish pull Trump was able to exert over his followers. Should be a fascinating psychological study...

How do you know Jordan has a conflict of interest? Based on what? Rumors and innuenco?

Don't confuse a trial with a House investigation.

I plan on being alive when historians write about the mass hysterica caused by Democrats to cause the country to go insane and not be able to define what a woman is.

And they'll wonder how the FBI continued an investigation for 2 1/2 years on nothing but a lie concocted by the Clinton Campaign. And they'll laugh at the stupidity and gullibility of the media propagating the lie.

" I certainly wouldn't have a problem with Nancy being on the committee and she was involved in the decision not to call in the National Guard."

Do you have a link for this, not just a falsely repeated talking point? How would Pelosi be "involved in a decision" but McConnel wouldn't be? You do realize the Senate is the upper chamber, so what in your convoluted reasoning causes you to believe that the House speaker would somehow be involved uniquely in "security concerns" which involved BOTH Houses?

Explain to us how you're not just engaging in partisan BS, by blaming House leadership and ignoring the role of Senate leadership? Are you ignorant of the fact that the attack was on BOTH Houses?

Besides being a lie, your claim just doesn't even make sense...

You’re a wacko.
Too funny. Libs daily destroying the country but anyone who disagrees with them is wacko. Gas prices at record highs virtually every day. Stock market tanking. Joe leading us to war with Russia and China. Makes you wonder what it would take for libs to admit their policies are failures.

Don't you have a drag show to do for small children, groomer?
