Terps, 4-2 winner (story link with boxscore)

IU is playing Little League ball in the B7th. What a shame that the run has to end like this if they lose this game.

Wow!!! A huge mental error by Kelzer. A Little League team would be embarrassed by how this 7th has gone.

A walk, two errors, followed by two FC spell doom in the inning for Kelzer.
Kelzer goes 1.1 plus innings: 1H, 4R (unearned), 1 BB & 2SO (9 batters/28 pitches)
Effross in to relieve; another error and runs continue to come in for the Terps.
Maryland, 4-0, after 7 innings.

Go Hoosiers!

Indiana gets runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs, run in on FC, Ramos beats out infield chopper (ruled an error) and drives the runner to 3rd, long single puts Hoosiers on the corners, but they are left stranded.
Halstead in to throw the 8th. GO, BB, hit to LC puts Terps on the corners, SO, and a SO ends the inning.
Maryland, 4-2 after 8 innings.

Dedelow doubles, FO to center, SO, and a SO ends the game. The 7th inning was the breakdown.

Most observers seem to think we will be a 3-seed somewhere. I think our credentials will keep us from dropping to a 4-seed. If for some reason we are left out of the tournament field, which I think is highly unlikely, there would need to be an investigation into the selection process.

Indiana Eliminated From the B10 tournament
Hoosiers commit costly errors in seventh inning, await NCAA Selection Show.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Indiana didn't commit an error through the first 33 innings of the Big Ten Tournament. The Hoosiers made three costly ones in the bottom of the seventh Saturday vs. Maryland, allowing the Terrapins to score four unearned runs and advance to the Big Ten Tournament championship game with a 4-2 win.

Scoreless through 6.5 innings, Maryland put its first two batters on first and second via a wild pitch and a walk. That's when things fell apart for Indiana, which will await Monday's NCAA Selection Show at Noon ET (ESPNU) to hear of its postseason fate.

Maryland scored the first run of the game on a throwing error on its sacrifice bunt attempt. An infield error loaded the bases with zero outs for the Terrapins following that, setting up a pair of fielder's choice RBIs as UM took a 3-0 lead.

An RBI single put the designated home team ahead, 4-0, before consecutive strikeouts by Scott Effrossfinished off the disastrous seventh frame.

Indiana had its opportunities early, placing its lead-off man on base in four consecutive innings, but the Hoosiers came up empty, including the third and fourth innings when IU advanced a runner to third.

The Hoosiers would, however, respond in the top of the eighth with a pair of runs of their own. Cangelosi walked and Chris Sujka doubled to put runners in scoring position. Casey Rodrigue's RBI ground out brought in IU's first run of the game followed by another score on a mishandled hit to first base as Nick Ramosreached on an error. IU left runners on the corners to end the top of the frame and stranded seven for the game.

Craig Dedelow led IU offensively with his 23rd multi-hit game of the season, clocking a pair of singles and a double for three hits.

Starting LHP Caleb Baragar pitched five scoreless innings, tossing four strikeouts and holding Maryland to as many hits.
