Take a break from gov hate to spread the hate to nike

I’m not quite a full-on sneaker head, but I do have some decently cool Nike shoes. I think they have the best “casual” and basketball shoes (I run in Brooks).

I have some Jordan 5s, LeBron 20s, Killshots and these shoes:

Without fail, those four pairs of shoes are the ones I get compliments on. I haven’t played competitive basketball in awhile, but if I move to a bigger city, I’d find a 40+ league to play in. I’d get a pair of Lebrons or Kobes for that.

Take it to the shoes thread.

Btw, recently I used DWS in a family text thread. My 14, 18 & 19 year old girls all replied they had no idea what I meant. When did DWS stop being a THING or is it only a term middle aged men still use on failing sports chat websites? Makes me wonder what else I do or say needs to be buried for good. Btw, my wife even had to look it up in the urban dictionary.

My minion is in air Jordan’s as we speak. I just hate how they do business. They don’t sell on the quality of their product but on bribes. And hey they got there from scratch but if you compete with them you’re not competing products to products you’re competing products and bribes vs products

I love how comfortable the air max 90s are, but I've had more then a couple pair after time have that metal piece in the back heal pop through which then cuts up the back of the heal.

Oh man - I have two pair and knock on wood I’ve never had that happen. I’m scouting out another pair now though.

Yeah, it's not happened with every pair I've had, but the last two I got rid of was because of that very reason.

To be fair, I've had it happen with some adidas sombas as well, so it's not just a Nike thing.

Maybe I should start actually tying my shoes and not just lacing them through.

I have a little extra bone that juts out of my heels on both feet. My Fred Flintstone feet — 13 1/2ers which means I wear 14s —- can rip through the backs of sneakers in a few weeks. $100+ sneakers of most brands and New Balance are the only shoes that I don’t shred.

My dorm buddies at IU said it was a vestigial sixth toe. lol. Luckily, women are fascinated by tall guys with big feet….

I read that in the context of the shoe thread and wondered how they couldn't possibly know about DSW shoe stores.

From reading this forum, the average height of posters must by 6'6".

It would be 6'10" but for JDB bringing it down.

So we’ve got hooky rolling around in Auburn in NB GRILLERZ 3000s and Booger in Sambas with the laces untied

My God

Snarl in alligator cowboy boots is all that’s left

Nah. Just picked up some Pegasus Trail 5s to replace my 4s. Great trail running and everyday shoes.

I picture Snarl in Ostrich. He's got that bitcoin wealth and tariffs on exotic leathers from overseas don't mean shit to a guy like him.

Side note- Still on a quest for new trail runners and NB was a suggestion. Not sure If I can do it.

I ran several miles a week for most of my adult life. Started with Nike but switched to NB on the advice of a big time runner and loved them. The hottest 20 something chick at the gym wears NB so they must be cool now too. 😉

@mcmurtry66 nothing with Nike, but Jeremy Clarkson has a column on the Musk hate. Hint, he knew who Musk was when Musk made up stuff to sue him for not liking Tesla.

Below should be non paywall

Will read later. Have five kids over today so pulling hair out. I totally forgot those two had beef!! Nasty fight and then Jeremy referred to them as the company we shall not name

Personally speaking at 22 I was incredible. Pro athlete. Deciding between grad and law school. Banging one hot chick after another. It’s almost shocking to think such a spiral could happen and there be a god. How fleeting that time was. Not much longer than a rhino is pregnant really

ha - I do have two pairs of New Balance 574s, but not those. I’m an unapologetic snob about what I won’t wear.

I think it goes back to my dad only getting me shoes from outlets or places like Kohls growing up and constantly getting razzed about it.

I’m actually very conservative in my spending in most every area though. It’s weird.

Not like that, but I have probably 300+ ball caps. Navy ships, IU, OSU, USNA, NAU where my daughter got her masters, Reds, Cowboys, one for every NFL or MLB team where I’ve attended a game, dozens of golf courses, and a lot that international military officers gave me, etc. Yes, I’m crazy like that.

I threw out around 150 ball caps during covid. I thought I had a problem.

At the moment I have one. And it’s my own co! I have 90 percent of the t shirts and jerseys from every team I have ever played for since college tho.

I rotate about 30 into my trunk for golf every year. I rotate the previous ones back into the storage boxes. It’s a system. I have thrown out some as well.

When I was the Assistant Engineer on my second ship in Bahrain every Navy ship that visited usually needs a part or some assistance that we could provide and it quickly became known that part of the deal was one of their ship ball caps. Usually some Officer or Chief showed up with one in hand.
