JMO I think they are gonna put this kid at safety which is what CTA stated he wanted to close out the class. He will have to sit out a year which is fine. He played some last year as a true at Georgia Tech. Was a 3 star coming out of high school as a LB and check his vids he's really quick and has a nose for the ball. Great pickup! Check that...after watching more vids on this kid he is a little beast! Damn wrecking ball!

At 5'11 205, sounds like a Husky candidate in the making. Another GA guy, coaches son, GT is no slouch and he'll sit out a year so he'll get to keep working out and learning the system. Looks like a solid pickup for sure.

Q: does this COUNT as one of the final 3-4 slots? I assume he's getting a full ride so assume so given it would start in second semester if he's on IU campus starting his sit out year?

I'm hoping he comes arrives on campus in January, theoretically having him count towards a class other then 2018, thus still allowing 6 more scholarships to be given...

That's just pure conjecture on my part. I lost track of how many we actually have to give a long time ago...

Any knowledgeable affirmation or otherwise would be much appreciated...

I work next to a Tech fan who is highly tuned into the program who told me about the transfer when I returned from lunch today.

He said he hated to see the kid leave, but understood with his dad leaving. He said he's not a program changing talent by any means, but is a high energy guy with a high football IQ... disguises his blitzes very well and should do well for Tom Allen.

I'm pretty impressed by this kid's video, both at MLB and FB.

Looked him up on Rivals.....he was only a 3* 5.5 kid with his best offers being GT, IU, and UCF. To me, he looks better than that. Don't know about playing safety as OP speculated....I agree with poster above who said he looks like a Husky....

I wonder why he didn't follow his dad to NC State?

His father is considered one of the better defensive minds in college football... Think he'd let his son transfer here if Allen couldn't coach and he didn't see a positive future for INDIANA FOOTBALL on the near horizon...?

As an IU fan, I’d prefer to wait until it’s official but that would be a great 1-year addition who can likely play (if not start) next season.
Pretty sure they wouldn’t be bringing him in if they didn’t think he would start.

Think you can add Lindner to that group.
Yes, sounds like Linder is a done deal. Great addition. Littlejohn can be his backup and Crider can redshirt, while learning from someone with a wealth of knowledge about and experience at the position.

A - I see it's official which is great news. B - I'm sure they hope he's as good as advertised, but given his past injuries, I don't think anything is guaranteed until after spring/summer camp and he earns it. But if he's as good as we hope, great 1-year addition that brings competition, experience and depth to the O-line, which they certainly need.

I guess nothing is guaranteed with anyone, and nothing will be handed to anyone, but they expect him to start. He has been working with a personal trainer since last fall, and will have the spring and summer in IU’s S&C program. So I guess concern about past shoulder issues is certainly relevant, but seems he has worked hard to get past that.
His brother is starting center for the Jags, so good football bloodlines.

Easy to see he is the son of a coach. Only watched about 3 minutes of the highlights but he appeared to know where every single play was going and is very good at avoiding/getting off blocks.

Guess the Andrew Luck experience has me in more of a “Trust but Verify” mode, but make no mistake I hope it’s a home run and that he’s good enough to start. Big get I’d so!
