Sweet Lou?

Does it give anyone pause that the transferred from IU?
Nope!! If the kid was any kind of a problem previously, there are plenty of support people still around to let the current staff know about it and he wouldn’t have been given an opportunity to return. I blame no kid for leaving when the coaches they signed up to play for get shown the door or leave for a different job. But, I also feel this says a lot about both the young man who wants to come back to IU and the current staff for giving him the opportunity. The fact he can play well and help a depleted defensive backfield right away is icing on the cake!!!

No... He was being pursued by Ol'Miss (with a big check) when Allen was fired and if Kiffen had been anything but an offensive "genuis" (which came into question this year) they were considered by many to be on track to complete for the Championship (personnel-wise) this year...

Gee, stay here and hope you get paid or go there and compete for an NC with a big pay day too... Tough call...

No one could have foreseen the turnaround Cignetti wrought in year one of his tenure, least of all someone from the remnants of the 2023 team...

I don't blame him a bit for leaving but I sure am glad to have him back...

Also, he transferred outside of the conference.
Kid enjoyed his time at IU. He was just under poor coaching and on lousy teams. Things were circling the drain and probably his only mistake was not sticking around to listen to the new staff. So, he went down to play for the serial womanizer for a season.

Glad for the team.

Side bar: I’m glad kids are getting some money and not being so exploited as the past. But the number of transfers gives me serious pause. Like, this has got to be awful for the number who actually cared about their academics. I hope this doesn’t end up being a net negative for the 99+% who don’t have an NFL future (I normally would say “pro future” but we’re already there).

As long as they don't just blow through it foolishly many of these kids will be set for life. If I'd had 6-7 figures invested when I was 22 years old I would not have worried too much about a job.

Apparently Louis Moore is coming back. Pretty big pickup at a position of need.

More Moore
That’s great! I was honestly going to post this morning that I’d love to see him return. He left a little over a week after Cig was hired so it’s hard to fault a 21 year old for balking with a whole new staff.

I think he and Ferrel complement each other’s games really well!

When you are young and come into a bunch of money through your talents, doesn’t matter if you take off at 21 as a football player or someone in the music industry, if you aren’t surrounded by good people that have your best interest at heart, you’re probably gonna get a lot of bad advice, people leeching you dry and squander your money. Kids don’t manage money well and a lot of adults don’t either.

I know VERY few adults who know money management...it sadly doesn't exist.

If my son had a multi-million dollar NIL deal, I would see to it that he put exactly 50% in Vanguard's VTSAX fund and not touch it for decades.

I gotta say, VTSAX going up like 28% this year was pretty nice.
