Sweat bands - where did they go?

A bit of levity here...when did players stop wearing sweat bands on their wrists? Occasionally you see head bands, but rarely wrist bands? Do today’s players not sweat like players did in the 60’s through 90’s? Curious minds want to know.

According to fpeaugh, he was the only one who knew they were useless many years before they went away, and the rest of us are "sweatband worshippers" who wouldn't listen to him, even though he was constantly warning us. Now that they are gone, he lives to remind of us our collective stupidity and claim intellectual superiority.
