Super Bowl indicator

The SB halftime also showed that racism and hate still is a huge problem in American idiocracy! Worst halftime show ever! Not 1 non-black person on the field the whole time. NFL lies about promoting diversity! No DEI! Should be sued! Thank God college games only play marching bands!

The halftime show wasn't racist, it just sucked... That's nothing new... You'd think with the type of money they spend on it they could book a decent act... I just turned the sound off and waited halftime out... Turned out that game was over midway through the 2nd quarter anyway...

It doesn’t help the anti-DEI cause to whine about a lack of “representation” in the Super Bowl halftime. Normal sane people don’t actually care about that shit and the type that do are likely the ones who created and inflicted “DEI” on us to begin with…

Some would argue that having the song of the year and 22 Grammys is a decent act.

Just because you don't like him doesn't mean others don't.

Glad you liked it... In my opinion, he sucked.

I gave the guy nearly his entire first set to convince me otherwise... To me, he sounded like he had his mouth full of food and a towel wrapped around his microphone...

Having seen portions of the Grammys over the years I can tell you that those bizzarroos don't carry any weight with me in my choice of music..., I've never been one of those lemmings who make my choices based on what others appear to think... (and I feel sorry for those that do operate like that)...

That's all fair. I think it's important though to go in knowing that not every half time show is tailored to every person watching.

It's the very Least important element of the Super Bowl to me ( and I understand that to many others it's just the opposite). I highly doubt they consider my demographic (old guys) when they book it...

I was just emphatically stating what I thought of it..., and don't expect others to agree with me when it comes to what's considered "art"...

The NFL caters to minorities and yes, that can be construed as racism; reverse racism if we're being accurate.

The NFL is a mirror image of the left wing ideology. They cater to the alternative, minorities and fringes. The problem with this approach is they forget who is actually paying the freight.

Yeah I thought it sucked too. Just not entertaining at all. I don't have to know an artist songs to be entertained. I've heard Lamar is supposed to be a great showman live but last night he was not. Maybe the most boring half time show I've ever seen.

OR, they a) treat the SB as a show and the half-time is all about marketing to expand their base b) they are catering to the demographic of the league.

in fairness, in years past we've been presented with relicts from decades past, which IMO also sucked although at least those you could pickup more than 4 words over the 15 minute show. The show was a waste of 15 minutes but I'm in the "you're so old" group per my daughter.

Were the commercials better this year then they've been in some time? Seemed so to me. Wife liked the Pitt intro.

it's got to be a tough gig. You're presenting to a TV audience in a 100,000 seat stadium. Getting good sound seems like a tuff task.

Didn’t watch the half time show , was busy doing other things . I still think that Whitney Houston’s national anthem was the best ever . My favorite commercial was the Jeep , where Harrison Ford said the Jeep was his favorite car even if his name was Ford .

The national anthem last night was fantastic. Maybe the best since Whitney.

I freely admit I do not understand what the NFL is trying to do with Super Bowl halftime and pre-game entertainment. First, halftime is WAY too long. Second, if 123 million people watched the SB, why not choose entertainment that appeals to the broadest range of viewers (which is not rap/hip hop)? To previous poster’s point, if Garth Brooks (whom I’m not a big fan of) was the entertainer and had 100 performers with him, none being minorities, the world would lose its head. Finally, we have one national anthem. The NFL once again chooses wokeness and division over uniting us.

That SB halftime show was so far over the heads of most of you, that it isn't even funny.
There was a lot of nuanced things that were meant to go over the heads of those who simply wouldn't want to hear it.

I can understand people not liking it if they don't know the music. A concert isnt the best place to introduce a rap artist to a new audience. But maybe if they dug into the show to understand it, they'd possibly learn a thing or two as to why people were impressed with it.

Lol Wow. Maybe....keep quiet?

They'd like it even less then! lol

Odd hot take. All the pregame stuff was fantastic. Harry Conic was great. Jon Batiste's national anthem was outstanding. I was bored by the halftime show but I wouldn't call it "woke".

I wonder how many people would be offended if they let a Christian Rock band perform in next years SB, or maybe Marilyn Manson or Five Finger Crotch Punch or whatever they’re called?

1994 was the last year we were blessed with a country artist.

Let's hope that changes soon.

Kenny Chesney? Morgan Wallen?

Those two guys sell out 60,000 seat NFL stadiums without any problems.

What do you mean? Beyoncé just won the grammy award for country artist of the year. She performed in 2013. 😎
