What regime? Israel isn’t done taking out the top officials. Not many left. Smart move by not going after the ayatollah. The objective is to weaken them enough(and to kill the nuke program)for the people. May end up with the shah’s back in Iran.So what next? What is Iran’s response? What is our end game here? Regime change?
Could be even worse. So what next? What is Iran’s response? What is our end game here? Regime change?
I knew Israel and US would wait until the rasslin legend Iron Sheik passed away to finally finish this mess. Hopefully make Iran humble!Could be even worse.
The devil you know versus the one you don’t and all that . . . .
The iron sheik was a great twitter follow.I knew Israel and US would wait until the rasslin legend Iron Sheik passed away to finally finish this mess. Hopefully make Iran humble!
lol. Why would we send 6 B2 just to use regular ordinance? Of course they used the MOP.BBC reporting we did drop the bunker buster on Fordow.
I'm just keeping the proles up to date.lol. Why would we send 6 B2 just to use regular ordinance? Of course they used the MOP.
So what next? What is Iran’s response? What is our end game here? Regime change?
She was radio silent when her guys did this. Dropping a dozen bombs isn’t a declaration or needs congressional approval.
Brad wanted to know what was next…probably Monday’s businessShe was radio silent when her guys did this. Dropping a dozen bombs isn’t a declaration or needs congressional approval.
The usual suspects can disagree, vehemently if need be, but calls for impeachment while American military personnel are in harms way is disgusting and inappropriate.
I wasn't. I said at the time Obama's drone campaign was likely a violation of both international and American constitutional law. Same here. She was radio silent when her guys did this. Dropping a dozen bombs isn’t a declaration or needs congressional approval.
So what next? What is Iran’s response? What is our end game here? Regime change?
Was she calling for Congressional debates on the issue?
Shane Gillis doing Trump is absolutely hilarious.Every time he stands at the lectern naming ME names and places I can’t help but laugh as I always think of that video now.
He died like a dog
So the flip side of that coin is that you leave intact a regime with every reason in the world to want to strike back at you. One that has killed Americans, funded taking Americans hostage, and that knows how to plan a terrorist attack. As much as I’d love to see the Ayatollahs gone, I really hope that’s not the objective. And I doubt it will be.
I’m sure that Reza Pahlavi and many, many other non-theocratic Iranians (not to mention others in the region) would be thrilled if we escalated it to that. But we’ve spilled enough blood and money in the region with those escapades. And I don’t think there’s any appetite to spill more.
Trump is banking on his big stick beating Iran into submission with one blow.So the flip side of that coin is that you leave intact a regime with every reason in the world to want to strike back at you. I'm not sure there's a good option here.
Not a fan of this. I think we should be VERY selective about when and where we get involved. I mean directly.
And it just seems like we’re doing the Israelis a solid here. There’s no real reason we should be involved.
And I say that as someone who fully supports Israel.
No it wasn’t impulsive. My view, without hard evidence, is that we were well coordinated with Israel from the start. Everything suggesting otherwise was a head fake. The only unknown was whether the Iranians would come to the table. They didn’t.Was she calling for Congressional debates on the issue?
Say what you will about whether this was legal or illegal, right or wrong, but I don't think at this point you can say it is "impulsive."
Even if it did work, what does it accomplish? That's the question. Do we delay their program 6 months? A year? Three years? Do we harden their resolve and increase their determination to build a bomb? That would be a backfire. Does it backfire? While I totally get this, nobody else has MOPs. China likely has similar capabilities. But, obviously, that’s not an option.
If these facilities were going to be destroyed, we had to be the ones to do it.
I don’t know if this was a good idea or not. But, since it’s a fait accompli, I sure as hell hope it worked.

All the guys who could pull off the research are dead. It likely delayed them indefinitely.Even if it did work, what does it accomplish? That's the question. Do we delay their program 6 months? A year? Three years? Do we harden their resolve and increase their determination to build a bomb? That would be a backfire. Does it backfire?
I think it's too early to answer these questions.

It was a great diversion tactic.Well, two weeks my ass.

Yeah, but when you knock out the A, B and C-level players you might not be ready for The Show.Well…we started the day with a total of 20 MOPs. So there are more at our disposal if necessary.
As far as their determination to build a nuke, I don’t think there’s ever been a shortage of that in Tehran.
Everyone knew that this was exactly what was going to happen when JCPOA was initiated. It’s almost like the originators planned this can kick. And knew where the can would land.I wasn't. I said at the time Obama's drone campaign was likely a violation of both international and American constitutional law. Same here.
But it is what it is. This is the world we live in now, and maybe this is what we needed. When it comes to national security, sometimes you have to brush aside issues of legal technicalities.
Trumps effed up enough things for sure, but being weak kneed to cutting off the head of a snake isn’t one of them.Trump is banking on his big stick beating Iran into submission with one blow.
I don’t believe the bolded. There’s no way the Israelis didn’t have a plan in place to remove this threat. While I totally get this, nobody else has MOPs. China likely has similar capabilities. But, obviously, that’s not an option.

I’m sure they did. But it was probably a plan with low/moderate confidence.I don’t believe the bolded. There’s no way the Israelis didn’t have a plan in place to remove this threat.
If they can get us to do it, all the better.
