Speaking of flipping and flippers....

?? What are you talking about? Please read my previous post. I never said the man was doing poorly this season, not once. As for age translating to conservative play calling, I just hope that thought remains "utterly ridiculous" to you throughout the season, As for my age, today is my birthday(not looking for sympathy)& I'm not dealing with this subject anymore regardless! Better things to do!!
Happy Birthday!! You're another year older - - - and wiser.

I think a few posters have quietly snuck onto the DeBord bandwagon. It is going to be fun watching the offense continue to improve under Coach DeBord. IU is fortunate to have him.
I have been critical of almost every OC or head coach that calls the plays. The DiNardo era was awful. I did like the play calling when Randle El was here. I thought we took advantage of his ability for the most part without being too predictable. Later on, they put in a passing play where ARE would take a step or two toward the line like he was going to run and then drop back to pass. It was effective in getting the defense to bite on a few plays and then pause later to make sure he wasn't going to sprint up the middle.

I'm not always thrilled with DeBord's play calling, but it is working so far this season.

With the increased use of tempo in NFL offenses, you could easily argue that any college coach employs certain pro concepts in their offense.
Talking about in regards to reads and route concepts. A lot of college offenses only use 1/2 the field, at IU they read the entire field and certain coverage beaters built in such as maybe smash route to beat cover 2 crossing patterns to beat man coverage skinny posts to attack 3 deep. But also reads on the part of the wr s.

Yes, I read all of those comments from Dawkins in one of the articles written about him.
