Sounds like it is done.

That is such a ridiculous story. Stevens slammed the door on ever coaching at IU four years ago during that press conference. He even called himself a Masshole. If he goes back to coaching in college it will be at Butler.

I love this thread..... I heard that Dolson met with Santa Claus at the North Pole and brought a signed contract back with him.

The Coaches suit on the bench will be Crimson with Cream collars and cuffs.... and a Crimson sock hat with a Cream Ball on the end.

Anything that doesn't have p u colors on it is a good start. 🏀😉

A couple of the names floated, such as Stevens, and Bennett, don't make any sense because they aren't in the tournament. There would be no reason to not announce already. And for former college coaches who aren't current, could have announced long ago and their new regime could've been getting rolling now.

So, it's a coach who's season is just done, and it'll be announced in a day or two, or someone still coaching, in which case we have to wait until they lose.

I guess I won't root for our unknown coach to lose. So I'll try to be patient.

Absolutely. Plus, both have said they're not coming back to coach in college, but nobody wants to take them at their word.

I am connected to president Witten. She has not met with anyone as of last week. She insists on meeting with new hires before anything is finalized. She met with Cignetti days before it was announced
That tells me Scott hasn't made his decision yet. As soon has he does, the first person he'll contact is Pam.

wow you actually posted this. I'm on plane from Ohare to Vegas, and spying on BTB, and there has been some SERIOUS big whale smoke blow up over the past 2 hours.

Still not buying it....either trolls taking their game up a huge notch, or the lid on the jar is starting to loosen.
Yup my goodness I’ve been checking it too. It’s like a roller coaster.

What a horrible pick! He’s too old and won’t connect with players…so help me, if that “cuck” Dolson picks Santa Claus I’m done….posting….for about 48 seconds or until I need an endorphin hit

If true, wouldn’t this mean it is a coach in the tournament? Why wait if it were Stevens or Wright?
What the BTN a people say is that everyone was assuming IU makes the tourney so they weren’t planning on announcing yet. Now that we know that didn’t happen, I’d assume we’d know tomorrow or Wednesday if it is someone NOT in tourney.

Some of the more often mentioned names recently... my mid term grades.

Wright 99
Pitino 99
Pearl 94
Stevens with exceptional staff and GM 93
McCasland 92
McCollum 92
May 92
Wade 92
Beard 92
Otz 90

The Stevens grade baffles the hell out of me. Cover his name up and read the entire coaching career and the dates.
His career trajectory from 6 years of mid major to 7 years of ok NBA coaching to 11+m as the architect of the world champions. He would rather kill himself than leave that and coach us. After he was handed divorce papers I would take him in for a thorough evaluation if he wanted to leave that for the IU job. Our wildest dreams can't touch how foid his life is.

The Stevens family have the power to decide the fate of IU basketball for the next 20 years? Including a 16 year old girl. I'm on pins and needles.
According to the big insiders on btown banners it all comes down to her. There were having a deep discussion on it early after I decided to take a look. Such a powerful vote she has!!

Archie was an absolute grand slam according to the smart basketball people.
History has a way of repeating itself. If archie was an A mccullum must be an A+++

Indiana's hire of Archie Miller as IU head coach continues to receive praise from national media.

Sports Illustrated released grades for all the major offseason hires today, awarding the Hoosiers an "A" for their hire of Miller.

"This is as much a reflection of Indiana’s process as it is landing on Archie Miller," the author said. "It doesn’t appear that athletic director Fred Glass overcomplicated things in this year’s landmark hire.

You don’t think a Stevens hire would deserve a mid to high 90s grade?

Dolson would likely have had to sell his family on it, as well as Stevens.

And maybe Stevens wife wants her “coach” husband back? Maybe she wants him to challenge himself again.

I assume Stevens would be astute enough to bake in some things in the coaching budget to help manage his time a bit.

Maybe this is a long play on Stevens part for the IU AD job after a decade long successful coaching run.

It’s not an outrageous thought.

You wouldn’t announce a new coach during the season. And 27 hours ago we thought we’d be playing this week.

Same narrative as last time. This is the little nugget that I would say throws the entire rumor in the trash. Less than a zero percent chance the Stevens family would ever allow information out that it was the daughter that was making the final decision...or even that her input was asked for. If THAT is part of any of this "whale" info...then its all dumb, and false...I know it is no matter what...but anything that has the daughter making this decision, whether that has any truth or not...no one would actually know that.
They other part is... if it were him, and the contract is already signed, why wouldn't they go ahead and announce it now? Why wait?

I'm convinced most of the vocal minority on here and social media in general loved going through the old grocery store checkouts weekly and reading or purchasing the tabloids or the pop teen magazines while waiting in line.
