What if Saban foresaw a weak team, and that’s why he retired! What if ALL SEC is weaker, or simply parity as a result of NIL.
If SEC so strong, why did the Big 10 (Michigan and now Big10 Washington) beat both SEC schools (Alabama and now SEC Texas) in last year’s Championship SemiFinals?
This year, Alabama lost to Vandy! If IU played Vandy and won, would that help IU’s SOS? And don’t forget, Alabama played Mercer (who lost to Stamford), but somehow that doesn’t hurt their sos.
Tenn lost to 5-5 Arkansas, who lost to 3-7 Ok State.
Ole Miss lost to 4-6 Kentucky
Notre Dame (obviously not SEC) lost to 6-5 Northern Illinois, but if IU beat Northern Illinois, would that help their SOS?
IU beat the 2 teams in last year’s championship.

It's simple. In the initial rankings to start the season, the SEC had 9 teams in the top 20. The B1G had 4. Therefore, any SEC conf win was considered a great win and any loss wasn't a bad loss. Even though LSU lost to USC and Texas A&M lost to ND, it was considered "good" losses at the time due to high rankings that didn't really hurt them. So we've been fighting the inaccurate and outdated SEC bias in the polls. Texas got MASSIVE credit for beating Michigan. Alabama got big credit for beating Wisconsin by the exact same score as Iowa did.

The point is, I hope we get SEC teams in the playoffs. Overrated.

I live in the middle of SEC country, and have about had it with SEC attitudes.
I was wearing my IU hat into a hardware store and got some interesting comments.
The 2 that burned me were 1. The SEC doesn’t get respect and 2. IU hasn’t played anybody.
I quickly responded that IU beat both of the teams in the championship last year.
I asked what was so strong about the SEC.
I asked about Vandy BEATING Alabama and 4-6 Kentucky beating Ole Miss, but they had no comment except “Vandy isn’t ever any good”.
So I am on edge and wanted to make a point.

LSU lost to usc. , USC is currently 5-5 12th in big 10
If we beat someone 56-7, and that team beat the current #16 team in FBS RANKING, PLUS leading spot for top 4, bye in playoffs, would that be a good win? They were a bit surprised that that team was Nebraska.
