Sorry folks.

Well good thing it's not at IU. About 10 people died that faithful evening in Bloomington at the game. This game has been known for over a year now. I knew when it was announced that both Calipari and Woodson wouldnt be at either school.
That poor playboy playmate who got trampled to death in the melee is likely the saddest story in the history of sports anywhere.

My apologies. I thought it was new info. I guess zi should have known better because of the timing.

You knew Cal would be gone? I hoped but certainly didn’t know a year ago.

I remember a story about the twin blondes that were in Wrigleys Doublemint Gum commercials in the 80’s. There was a fire alarm late at night at the UK men’s athletic dorm and apparently the twins stumbled out of the dorm not fully attired. Big news in the 80’s.

I’ve never heard this story.
Here is a recap of the horrors of that game per KY and PU posters and Cal's uncontrolled sobbing....

Appartently of the 35 KY fans in attendance:

37 were pushed down the stairs
17 were set on fire and thrown to their death from the balcony
368 were knocked down by the kids that stormed the court
130 were pushed down the stairs then trampled
4,987 were sworn at
1,764 were spat on
9,457 had beers (that were not yet sold in TAH) poured over their heads
1 team stripper got a titty twister

Then the game started.

The amazing this is all of the 17 who were set on fire also had their couches set on fire too. Who brings a couch to a basketball game?

Wow. You guys sound like animals.

And for the record, I’m not judging. There have been many studies showing how decent people can conduct themselves in an uncivilized or even animalistic manner in a group dynamic. I forgive you.

Kentucky fans are cool most of the time. They just have a larger percentage of less educated people who are not used to niceties. And I'm sure even that subset is civil enough unless they're feudin' with you .

A larger percentage than who? UCLA? Sure. IU? Maybe a little but not much.

I personally know of 2 people who received titty twisters. One was a friend of my cousin.

Rupp is in a strip mall so I think there is running water at the adjacent Dollar Tree.

I remember going to the state tournament every year as a kid and staying at the connected Hyatt and running around th Galleria (mall) all night with friends and going to the games all day in Rupp. Awesome times.

Really, Hyatt has a hotel in Kentucky? Does it have indoor plumbing?
