That talks about how he’s going back to his beer. The other quote was reported by Jon Rothstein:

“Chris Beard tells me that he will NOT cut out beer like he did during last season.

Beard on going through last season without beer: "It got really hard when we were on the verge of a big win."”
Kudos to you for finding that POS gossip girl article. Bunch of effin drama queens round here.

USA Today mentions the giving up beer.

Published 2019. That’s when eggs were like $0.99 a carton. WTF does that have anything to do with today.

Newsflash. Beer is legal. We can even buy it on Sundays now.

So this is something he does with his teams regularly. Asks each of his players and staff to give up something they like for the season as a show of sacrifice. His was beer and sweets.

Last season, UT basketball coach Chris Beard had each of his players and coaches make a sacrifice during the 2021-22 season. The bench boss decided to give up ice-cold brewskis.

I don’t really see the issue.

Interesting. I think Woody did the same this season. Most of the squad chose to sacrifice effort.

The Chris Beard debate is becoming a "types of people" sorta thing. Individual life journeys are starting to frame this debate.
I agree.

The people that have never made a mistake in their lives vs the the people that have dealt with people that poke the bear.

Everyone has made a mistake in their life. Multiple. Most of them don’t include beating women.

Every coach on this list would have this team at 20 wins and ready to make a strong tournament run. Mike Woodson would take any of their teams and suck. He’s that bad of a college basketball coach.
well, I disagree with both extremes. Keep in mind IU hired Davis, Sampson, Crean, Archie, and Woodson. Obviously, winning is not as easy as it sounds. Plus Woodson is not bad when he has really talented players.
There are not a lot of really good coaches. Many coaches look good by simply managing talent well.

I have read several times that you claim he "beat" that woman. I don't think it was even described as a "beating" on the police report, but I could be wrong. He has been accused of choking her, possibly biting her, pushing her down some stairs (bruises and abrasions), but not actually striking her. That may sound like I'm splitting hairs, but maybe he pushed her, she was wearing high heels, she stumbled and just happened to fall down some stairs. There is a difference. There is a difference between pushing, choking, biting and actually striking. Maybe she was trying to poke his eye out and he bit her arm in self defense. The point is, we don't know. That is Dolson's job to find out.

Obviously something happened on that night that went past most social and moral boundaries. If IU were to hire him and something even remotely like this happened again, it would be a horrible look on the University, no doubt. I for one, don't think the fact the charges were dropped has one thing to do with Dolson's/IU's decision but it's theirs to make.

You are asking who we think IU will hire, not who we WANT them to hire. I THINK it will end up being someone on the Tier of Cronin, Buzz Williams, Brad Brownell, McCullum, McCasland, Shaka Smart.

Stranger things have happened: See Arkansas/John Calipari, but if I had to wager, take your pick from those 6 and a few more that I didn't include but are similar.
