at Boca, after I had to sit through Pippen, but we get home after two of the former and four of the latter to see Rutgers tie the score and then win on a field goal.

And, yet, before we head off to a party, there are those here who want to give Kevin Wilson an extension? Seriously?

I've seen this crap ever since the days of Phil Dickens. It doesn't change. Only the names change.

There are those here who say: What big name coach will ever come here? I don't know, have we ever made a serious effort to find out? We keep doing the same old crap and .... we're ..... surprised .... by ..... the ...... results? Really!? Some of you people crack me up.

I'm still all in, and I'd double-down on Wilson at this point . . . but I'd see if I could get Wilson a little help . . . .

What I'm seeing is that the pieces of a football team are generally much better under Wilson than we've had in the last 20 years or so . . . I think the athleticism is better (when can you recall IU having two blocked kicks from scrimmage in a single game? Plus on takeaways for the season?), the effort is good, the talent is better, the individual player development is good to good plus . . . and as a result we get first halves where we outplay OSU, we eventually put away a good WKU team, we scorch a 3 year bowl program like Rutgers for 24 in the first half and for 28 points in 10 minutes in the 3rd quarter . . . and we have stats like a 100-14 scoring advantage in all third quarters this year . . .

. . . but this year it's like the pieces get distracted too easily, like Toth running the wrong way on a fake punt that was set up beautifully against OSU, Nate - likely trying hard not to make a mistake - under throws two receivers for highly problematic interceptions in the 4th quarter today . . . Dutra, Brown, Crawford all diving in on the run defense sell out and as a result losing contain on basic running plays that are short yardage . . . our long-snapper tossing one over Toth's head right after a time out . . . the defense letting Wake and Rutgers back in the game . . . it's like we can't stand having any success . . .

. . . so it's putting the pieces together into units that operate as a cohesive team consistently that is eluding us.

My take is that it's learning how to get over that hump, to get comfortable with, and to consolidate/build on in-game success that Wilson's having a hard time with. I don't think you dump a guy who is doing a lot of things right . . . but if I'm Glass I might consider seeing what I can do to help get Wilson over this hump. CEOs have mentors, consultants and boards of directors, shrinks have their own shrinks . . . I might try to find out whether the Head Ball Coach might want to undertake a new career coaching coaches in the off season . . . .

PS - It was Dinkens . . .

The issues you describe in your second and third paragraphs are all about coaching, and Wilson has come up short too often on them. As for a mentor, Glass doesn't have to do anything. All these guys have plenty of mentors they talk to constantly. No need to help give him something he already has.

I agree that coaching needs to improve but what decent coach would even consider coming to Bloomington? I have been a CKW supporter but this was embarrassing and it will probably mean the end of his era here.

Forget all the comments about coaching mistakes and errors made by players. This games was lost because Rutgers owner both lines of scrimmage after we got up 52-27. That's on the players and their pride. That shouldn't have to be coached by Wilson, Saban or Harbaugh.
