No, I have not looked this up to verify it, but I sense that this is one of the rare times that less than half of the Big Ten teams, ( 8 of 18) have made the tournament since it has been expanded. In comparison, the SEC had 14 teams out of 16. It is obvious what league is better. On top of that the Big Ten has a shaky number 2 seed but no number 1's and then some shaky teams seeded in the top 7 that may not be deserving of those relatively high seeds. Yes, I know IU beat MSU (a team that cannot shoot and has no stars at all) at MSU but other than that the Hoosiers had no significant wins, lost seven of eight games at one point, and played a non conference schedule that featured cupcakes and two teams, Louisville and Gonzaga, who blew them out. The fact that the Hoosiers did not make the big dance is not surprising and that is made an even worse reality when you realize how down the entire Big Ten was this year.

8 wins and 8-0 against the spread. I think the conference is showing it was good enough for both Ohio State and Indiana to get into the field.

Well with an 8-0 maybe the Big Ten was not down. Maybe they were just all good and kept beating each other up. But I still maintain that the Hoosiers did not deserve to be in the tournament based on the losses to Louisville and Gonzaga and how poorly we played during the middle of the year.

If we want to go that route, check the league records over the previous three years. B1G tied or slightly ahead on percentage over the SEC, but Big East, ACC well out in front. Even the Big 12 out in front of the B1G.

Big Ten didn't get screwed based on the 0.500 tourrney record over several years., but the formula strongly overweighted the SEC who has the same recent record or worse. Not sure where that ridiculous love for the SEC came from. Follow the money I guess, not sure.

If you can't get into the top half of your conference, you don't deserve to be in the tourney. I don't care how good your conference is perceived to be.

SEC started with 14 teams and after just the FIRST ROUND, the B1G and SEC are tied with 8 teams left. The ESPN SEC bias absolutely needs to stop.
Agreed. Was terribly obvious in football and now basketball too.

ESPN kind of sucks now. It was great 30 years ago.
