Survive and advance. Or not. On senior day.
After the speeches last year, some of these guys had better bring it against OSU.

OSU will win this. I just dont see this team and this coach having the mental toughness and understanding how important this game is compared to OSU. They owe IU revenge. Must win. I hope to eat crow.Survive and advance. Or not. On senior day.

No idea what to expect. I hope this team understands the gravity and brings it, because it would be cool for them to make the tourney. But, as many have posted, hope is not a strategy. It would be so "Woodson's IU" for us to come out unprepared and lay an egg on our home court. I wish it weren't so, but it's sort of what I expect. But I still hope not!Survive and advance. Or not. If I’m Leal or Gallo and the team chokes, I’m staying away from those hot mics after the gameNo idea what to expect. I would expect very emotional and tough play from Leal, Gallo and Goode. No clue on anyone else.OSU will win this. I just dont see this team and this coach having the mental toughness and understanding how important this game is compared to OSU. They owe IU revenge. Must win. I hope to eat crow.
You don't think Gallo and Leal have been bringing it for quite awhile now?Survive and advance. Or not. On senior day.

No we did not. Offensive possessions the last 4 mins were pathetic. Galloway was getting used up by that defender. Not his fault, that dude had some serious length, but shouldn't someone else had been tasked with starting the offense? Maybe run something besides the high pick and roll/two man game with Gallo/Ballo?Yes must win.
We did not finish strong last night.
They both had their say last year. They should not speak as "seniors" again, regardless of the outcome. If I’m Leal or Gallo and the team chokes, I’m staying away from those hot mics after the game
Opposing coaches have seen our "new lineups" in a few games now, they will be prepared for it, as well as Leal's BHSS zone defense.I have zero doubt we'll be as fired up, and ready to play, as Woodson and this team is able to be. I would think, with our new lineups and new style and points of emphasis, that we'll either beat OSU, or play them very close. But if the game is close at the end...its hard to have a ton of confidence.
You're hoping huh?Opposing coaches have seen our "new lineups" in a few games now, they will be prepared for it, as well as Leal's BHSS zone defense.
No, just trying to explain to you on what to look for. You're hoping huh?
You now too...good lord. Shelstead is one of the fastest, quickest, and best scoring guards in our conference. It took a 35 foot, end of shot clock jumper for him to get to double figures. He beat Leal a couple times...so what...he's blindingly fast and good with the ball. From the first TV timeout to the last one though, Leal dominated him defensively. And he didn't do it playing high school zone defense, obviously.Opposing coaches have seen our "new lineups" in a few games now, they will be prepared for it, as well as Leal's BHSS zone defense.
Didn't mean that as a dig at Leal. Going back to the zone we used in the MSU game, someone said they recognized it as one used by JR Holmes at Bloomington South, and suspected Leal was coaching it.You now too...good lord. I attended the Michigan/Oregon game in Ann Arbor, and Shelstad looked much better vs. Michigan guards than largely Leal. The ridiculously negative takes against Leal have no foundation other than he's not an elite guard. You now too...good lord. Leal is one of the better defensive guards in the conference. And he's largely doing it "on his own". Most of the time, our team defense isn't very good at helping and recovering...so when Leal gets beat, he gets beat for layups or other open looks. It doesn't happen all that often, but it looks different than when Braden Smith or Jaden Akins gets beat. There are also other times when Leal gives up looks because he's the one trying to direct and help everyone execute our BS nail/slot/rim philosophies. Its not like he NEVER messes up, or never gets beat. Everyone does. But the lack of recognition on all this is becoming tiresome, to say the least.I attended the Michigan/Oregon game in Ann Arbor, and Shelstad looked much better vs. Michigan guards than largely Leal. Exactly. I can see us getting trucked or winning fairly easily. Or it could be a dog fight all the way through. I guess I expect a dog fight to maximize my stress levels for the longest amount of time possible. 🫣No idea what to expect.
Wow, I sort of wish I had that kind of passion again about IU bball. Detachment mode is now my default factory setting.Someone commented (I think it was another thread) that the OSU game feels almost like a play-in game. I concur. If Indiana loses I think they need to win a couple Tourney games. I also assume that Ohio State is more likely to get the benefit of the doubt than we are.

I may have to watch with self-imposed detachment so I don't stroke out.
