Since Trump and Vance are such manly men

Meh. That one is not on Vance. The trophy was either already broken or designed to come apart and he assumed when he picked it up that it was one piece / solid. The other guy pulled harder than Vance did, the parts came apart and Vance just fumbled it with the sudden change in weight.
There are plenty of things I will give Vance crap about, this isn't one of them.

Yeah, it was really worth its own thread....... small minds.

You're mostly right. The bottom part is actually a stand for the trophy. Immediately after the championship game or at the victory celebration the coaches and players are only holding the actual trophy up, so it's definitely meant to come a part.

And yeah, it's not a big deal - similar to the way the awkward interaction with the woman at the donut shop wasn't ultimately a big deal either - but he/his staff should know that he's not good at ad libbing live situations and a lot more care and effort should go into planning this stuff out. He's too awkward and weird not to do that.

At least admit that the fact JD couldn’t hoist the natty trophy loses some man points
Supposedly he's not really a big fan of OSU football or sports in general. Being a die-hard sports fan obviously isn't a pre-req for being a politician, but he thought he saw an opportunity to score some cred and he bungled it.

You mean to tell me going on in on the illegal from el salvador is not helping the left? When you see that approval number you realize just how far from reality the water cooler is. The cooler is more like being on an ivy league campus.
Ivy League ideology with an Ivy Tech intelligence.

What is your basis for believing this. You’ve said it a few times now and my belief is you’re talking out your ass

I'm not going to tip my hand here, but let's just say I know people who know people and leave it at that.

I honestly don't care if you believe me or not.

he was a marine. has to take some physical ability to be a marine. obviously he's not the level of athlete as trump who chose a business career over the major leagues. you can still see that inner athlete as he's winning golf championships at 80

This board is so out of touch with reality.

Here's the thing - and I realize this may be a foreign concept for you. Voting for someone or down party lines doesn't earn the people you voted for undying loyalty for life. There are a number of reasons Democratic voters might not be happy or approve of the Democratic voters.

Vance is perfectly adequate as a retail politician. Not as good as Trump, much better than anyone on the D ticket last go around.

I know you're joking. President Trump has claimed that he could have played Major League Baseball, but he actually wasn't nearly good enough to make that claim. Like many people in sports who think they'll make the pros, he wouldn't have:

I didn't play baseball after Little League where I was just average, so he was better than me, I'm sure. So, he's got that going for him, which is nice.

If we wait long enough, someone on his cabinet will eventually bring up how awesome he was at baseball and move to give him an honorary act Young award. I mean, it’s going to be hard to top all the ass kissing at cabinet meetings over the next 4 years so someone is bound to bring it up.

some great quotes from mlb on trump. sounds like his passion was baseball. power hitter. imagine his quotes had he chosen the major leagues for a career

He could have had a career as a sportswriter
And not, like, just a blogger or something. Like an old-timey 1920s sportswriter. Check it out:
Trump's best sport was baseball, a passion that inspired him, at 12, to write a prose poem that was published in the yearbook.

"I like to hear the crowd give cheers, so loud and noisy to my ears," Donald wrote. "When the score is 5-5, I feel like I could cry. And when they get another run, I feel like I could die. Then the catcher makes an error, not a bit like Yogi Berra. The game is over and we say tomorrow is another day."
He was a power hitter
However, like many power hitters of today, he couldn't bring himself to bunt against the shift:
By sixth grade, Donald's power as a right-handed hitter was enough that fielders shifted to left field when he batted. "If he had hit the ball to right, he could've had a home run because no one was there," said Nicholas Kass, a schoolmate. "But he always wanted to hit the ball through people. He wanted to overpower them."
He was a gritty, dirty uniform player
Now known more for his luxurious ties, Trump once was not afraid of getting down in the dirt:
A catcher, Trump's uniform was often the dirtiest on the field, and he shrugged off foul balls clanging off his mask.
He could never find equipment that suited him
Many golfers also understand this struggle:
After once making an out, Donald smashed neighbor Jeff Bier's Adirondack bat on the pavement. The bat cracked, Bier said, but Trump did not apologize.

In those years, youngsters yearned for the new mitts with intricate webbing that Rawlings had begun manufacturing. Peter Brant persuaded his father to help pay for the $30 glove, but Donald could not persuade Fred Trump to buy him one.
His father did buy him a less expensive model, though.

It’s shame Trump’s baseball career didn’t line up with Kim Jong Un’s. Those U.S. North Korea match ups in the World Championships would have been legendary.

Trump played baseball at New York Military Academy? Military academy? Is that where he developed bone spurs?

To be totally fair, he was probably a DEI, Appalachian-region first gen Marine, so according to our current administration, there probably is really no way of knowing how much physical ability he actually has.
